Holy Submission
June 2011
by Rev. Chris Machamer
The Bible tells us to submit to the Lord, and He will lift us up. Holy submission unto the Lord is necessary to have power over the enemy. There is so much we can receive from God by submitting to His divine will for our lives.
Jesus is our perfect example. He lived to do the will of the heavenly Father, and He was victorious every day that He was here on Earth. Jesus instructed all of His followers to deny self, take up their crosses and follow after Him. To live in such complete submission requires that your first love be working in you daily. Be careful because it’s easy to lose that first love. Jesus complimented the church at Ephesus in Revelation, chapter two, because they had possessed great faith and did many wonderful works; however, they had lost their first love. God then warned them to repent or the candlestick, the true Church, would be removed from their midst. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent (Revelation 2:4,5).
Without holy submission, the fruits of the Holy Spirit will not manifest themselves in a person’s life. Many people wrestle with unnecessary burdens because they have not submitted everything and everybody to the Lord. In this final hour, you won’t be able to stay completely separated from the world unless you live a life of holy submission unto God. The Word of God tells us, Let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth (I John 3:18). This can only be done when a life has completely surrendered to God and His will. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1). After all that divinity has done for us, it is in our best interest to submit completely to God because the way of the Lord is perfect.
The only way to live free from all sin is to submit yourself to God. Friend, if there is just one sin in your life, it means that you’re not submitted to God; and great trouble lies ahead. The Bible says, Now is the day of salvation (II Corinthians 6:2). Submit yourself to the Lord, and get everything out of the way between you and God. Let Him love you and do for you what no other power can do! If you would like to submit your whole life to God, click here and pray this prayer with Rev. Angley.
God bless you,
