Victory

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God (I John 5:4,5)? Jesus is our faith; and through Him, we can be overcomers.
You can have victory in Jesus through the blood of the Lamb. Our world is headed for chaos, and Jesus is the only answer. That’s why He came and brought divine victory to us, but so many people don’t use it or even acknowledge it. They don’t use the mercy, love or faith He brought. But those who are born again through the Spirit of God can have victory in Jesus because they have Him living and working in their hearts.
These are days of severe trials for God’s people, and it is not because they have failed. The Bible says, Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy (I Peter 4:12,13).
These are the last days, and you will be tested and tried in many ways; but Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). You can’t let fear take over your mind and stay there. It will destroy your peace, your health and your spiritual welfare. Then you will not enjoy the Lord, His power or His blessings.
Jesus Brought Miracles
Jesus was tested in many ways when He was on Earth, and He stood each test. The devil tried Him in every way he could spiritually, physically and mentally; and he tried his best to destroy Him. He wanted to destroy God’s plan of redemption that would make it possible for every sinner to be set free.
Jesus brought everything you need to have victory in Him every day, so never give up in despair and never think God has forgotten you. He wouldn’t forget you any more than He would forget His Only Begotten Son. That Son went to the whipping post for your healing and died for your sins. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). God sees those blood stripes on His Son’s back and the nail prints in His hands, and He can never forget that great sacrifice.
There is no disease, affliction or bondage Jesus didn’t bring a cure for. When He brought the divine blood, He brought the cure. When Jesus was here, He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease among the people (Matthew 4:23). Jesus was victorious then, and He is victorious now!
Peter wrote, By whose [Jesus’] stripes ye were healed (I Peter 2:24). The miracle you need is yours. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up (James 5:15).
Jesus Is the Light
Jesus is your victory now and forever, so never look at defeat. There is no defeat in Jesus Christ! I have seen Him come forth in all kinds of awful storms, severe tests and trials; and He has always been victorious for us, so why do you expect anything less?
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations (II Peter 2:9). Never let the enemy torment your mind with any kind of defeating thoughts no matter what is going on in your life. You can be delivered and set free by the faith and victory Jesus brought. Jesus said, Have faith in God (Mark 11:22), and that faith heals the sick. That faith brings freedom over all powers of the devil, so it’s needless to worry when you know victory will be yours.
When the victorious Jesus was on Earth, He met people in awful conditions and said to them, Wilt thou be made whole (John 5:6)? He also said, According to your faith be it unto you (Matthew 9:29). If you ask in faith believing, you shall receive.
Victory! We must sing about it, preach about it, pray for it and believe it; and it will work. Jesus said, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12). That light shining from Heaven is our Jesus victory, and it lights up the whole world. That light will shine for eternity. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof (Revelation 21:23). We will be shouting victory forevermore as we walk down the Avenue of Glory in Heaven one day.
Jesus Is Always There
As you study the Word, it increases and multiplies within you; and more divine faith is being added to your life. That faith will help you in your deepest valleys and give you strength to climb the highest mountains. Divine faith will be there in your darkest nights and dispel the darkness until you can cry, “The light shineth, and I’m not afraid. Thank you, Lord, for victory!”
Jesus hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). Jesus will be with you all the way, so you have nothing to fear or worry about. You can say like Paul did, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Galatians 2:20). That is a victory statement!
And here is another victory statement: When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). You must lift the blood-stained banner of Jesus Christ high and march straight ahead to victory, trampling devils underfoot. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet (Psalm 91:13). Victory is always straight ahead.
Through Jesus, we can have miracles and healings for soul, mind and body. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:57). When Jesus walked on Earth, His victorious hands set captives free, gave sight to the blind, made crippled people to walk and even raised the dead; and those hands are still doing mighty works today.
Again I say, you have nothing to fear. Yes, fear will come, but don’t let it stay. Just decide, “I have Jesus for this. I have His perfect love, and all fear has to go.” There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love (I John 4:18).
Claim What Is Yours
Just as parents can leave things to their children when they pass away, the New Testament is God’s will for His children. Everything you need is right there for you. All you have to do is claim it because you are a joint-heir with Christ. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together (Romans 8:17).
As a child of God, you are in the victorious family of God. If you remain faithful, you will receive a crown of life one day. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him (James 1:12). When that crown is placed on your head, it will be your final victory; so you must never turn away or fail. Serve the Lord with your whole heart in holiness and righteousness, and victory will be yours.
You must go into each battle knowing that the Lord is alive. Job knew that and he said, I know that my redeemer liveth (Job 19:25). It isn’t enough to know that Jesus is alive; you have to know without a doubt that He lives in your heart. Then you will have all the strength, power and faith you need to overcome. Don’t look at the battle coming your way; look for the victory that is ahead.
Trust Jesus for Every Tomorrow
Job didn’t know about the great battle that was about to come his way, and you don’t know what tomorrow will bring for you either; so you always have to be ready. Jesus said, Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof (Matthew 6:34). That means He will take care of you, protect you and supply all your needs.
God is God of today and tomorrow, so don’t worry about tomorrow. God has it all under control. Worry and doubt aren’t faith, and they hinder God from working for you. Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6). You have to decide the Lord is going to do what you need, and that is the end of it.
You’re going to have battles. Jesus said, In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33). Jesus is our example; so if He was an overcomer, you can be one too. Jesus promised, Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen (Matthew 28:20). You can’t ever forget the promises of God. When you do, you will be in trouble. You will always have to suffer either sooner or later for forgetting the promises of God.
The Battle Is the Lord’s
Some people give up so quickly. They serve God as long as things are going good; but when things get a little rough, they shrink back or turn away. Some people blame God for their tribulations and some even think their diseases and afflictions come from the Lord. The Bible says, Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).
Look again at Job. The Bible tells us that the devil is the one who afflicted him. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown (Job 2:7). And it was God who delivered him. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10). God even doubled Job’s livestock and possessions compared to what he had before he had been afflicted. That’s what God does.
You say you want God to bring you victories, but you don’t want to fight any battles. You say you want your faith to increase, but you won’t use the faith you have. The Bible says, God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). When you use that measure, God will give you another and another; and on it goes.
The Bible tells of the lessons Job learned during his dark battle, and he had more faith than ever when he came through that battle. It is during your battles that the Lord will become so dear if you look to Him and walk every step with Him. Then after the battle, you will have victory.
Never Listen to the Devil
You can’t listen to that discouraging devil. The Bible tells us, For he [the devil] is a liar, and the father of it (John 8:44); yet some people listen to him more than they do God. You may say the devil told me this or that and then become very disturbed over it. Well, he may very well have told you something, but why worry or become afraid over anything a liar tells you? The devil never brings victories, only defeat.
Now, the Lord can speak to you, but it doesn’t do you much good if your faith waivers. The Bible says, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord (James 1:6,7).
You have to get rid of all fear, worry and doubt if you expect to go into a battle and come out a winner. Way too many of God’s people are bound with fear. Some are afraid of what the devil might do to them. Some are afraid to claim the promises of God for fear they may not be fulfilled for them. Others are even afraid to say they are a child of God for fear they may not be. The devil gives them that doubt.
Some children of God climb all the way to the Upper Room and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. They are full of the Spirit and the power of God; but instead of using that power, they just sit down and do nothing. They don’t realize what they have, so they don’t take advantage of the Spirit’s teachings, comfort, guidance or anything else He can provide for them. How sad.
Life on this Earth will not be easy, and you will have many battles. You’re going to have to decide once and for all that there is no defeat in Jesus Christ. You have to wake up with the Lord and spend time with Him every day. You have to put on the armor of God listed in Ephesians 6:13-17. Then you can face each battle with the Lord and come out victorious.
Jesus said, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). That is the answer to living a victorious life every day. If you are not living for the Lord and following in His steps, say the sinner’s prayer located on page 6 of this magazine. Then I pray you will have many victories, and I will see you in Heaven one day. God bless you is my prayer.
