Youth Today

Dear Friend,

In the Bible, the Psalmist asked a question that the Holy Ghost gave him the answer to; and he wrote them both down for us.  Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?  Or who shall stand in his holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.  He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation (Psalm 24:3-5).  The Psalmist was asking, Who will go to Heaven; who will ascend to that city whose builder and maker is God?  It’s a question that affects every one of our eternal souls, so we need to take earnest heed to the clear answer that the Holy Spirit gave.

The Holy Spirit first referred to those with clean hands and a pure heart, and a pure heart is only possible through faith in the blood of Jesus.  The divine, pure blood of the Son of God was shed because all of us, without exception, were born with sin in our hearts.  Jesus bore all of our iniquities when He died so that we could be free.  By trusting in Him and in His blood that He shed for you and by asking Him to forgive you of all of your sins, Jesus will cleanse your heart with His blood and make it pure.

There is no way to Heaven but through the precious blood of Jesus.  Have you received Him?  Have you trusted in His blood to wash away all of your sins?  If not, you won’t go to Heaven because only those with a pure heart will go.  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).  Nobody has a pure heart without the blood of Christ washing it clean, and the good news is that He wants to give you a pure heart.  He died and gave His blood so that He could give you that kind of heart.  He will make you a brand-new creation if you will just ask Him to cleanse you.

The Holy Spirit also mentioned through the Psalmist that only those with clean hands will ascend into Heaven.  This means that you have to live a holy life.  After our hearts are made new, we must follow after holiness without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrew 12:14).  When our hands are clean from sin, we won’t reach out to touch it; and we will no longer want to commit any willful sin.  We will keep our hands clean; and we will live an honest, holy, sin-free life through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit’s answer continued saying that only those who have not lifted up their souls unto vanity will go to Heaven.  This means that we must completely separate from the vain things of the world such as selfish ambitions, foolish pleasures and worldly philosophies.  Only those people who have separated from the world will ascend to Heaven.  The Bible says, Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.  If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him (I John 2:15).  How can anybody who has the love of the world in them go to Heaven?  We are in the world, but we are not to be of the world.  We can’t lift up our souls unto all of the vain and crazy things that others do.  We have to lift up our souls unto the Lord.  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help (Psalm 121:1).

The Holy Spirit’s answer ends by saying that those who go to Heaven will not swear deceitfully.  Young People, cursing and swearing are ungodly; and those who speak such things will not go to Heaven no matter what they claim.  This scripture also means that only those who keep their word and don’t lie will go to Heaven.  The Bible definitely states that all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8).  All deceit, lies and swearing must be cleared out of a person’s life if they want to go to Heaven.  Jesus takes it all out through His blood when He makes us clean, and we can’t ever go back to it.

Young People, you can clearly see that God is not vague about who will go to Heaven.  The Holy Spirit plainly spells it out in this scripture verse from the Psalms.  The question now is Will you go to Heaven, or will you go to hell?  I want you to go to Heaven, and God wants you to be there, too.  Jesus has made the way for you, but the choice is up to you.  Will you let the Lord make your heart pure today?  Will you let Him cleanse it with the blood that He shed for your sins and mine?  If you want to be given that pure heart, please click here and say the sinner’s prayer and mean it with a sincere heart.  God loves you so much that He gave Jesus to be crucified in your place.  Don’t pass up your free gift to Heaven.  Receiving Christ is the best thing that you will ever do.

After you receive and trust the Lord for your salvation, you have to continue living a holy life.  You must have clean hands and stay separated from all the vanities of the world—never cursing, swearing or lying.  It won’t be hard for you to do that because Jesus will be living on the inside of you.  Then you will be among those who, as the scripture describes, will ascend to the hill of the Lord [Heaven] and will stand in the holy place.  You will be one of those who the Lord describes as receiving the blessing.  That blessing is eternal life in Heaven; and it includes all Heaven’s joy, peace and love.  Praise God!

Who will ascend?  Why not say, “Thank God, I will because Jesus died for me, and I am living for Him.”  God bless you.

Love,
Rev. Hoffman
