Ernest Winston Angley

August 9, 1921 — May 7, 2021

Our beloved pastor and evangelist, Reverend Ernest Angley, went home to be with his Lord on May 7, 2021.

Ernest Winston Angley was born on August 9, 1921, in Mooresville, North Carolina to the late Julius and Fannie Angley.

At the young age of 18, Rev. Angley gave his heart to the Lord and began his lifetime of service to win the lost at any cost.  He preached the Gospel in its fullness; and the Lord blessed the people with salvation, miracles and healings.

While attending college, Rev. Angley started dating his future wife, Esther Sikes; and together, they came to Akron, Ohio and established Grace Cathedral and later, Ernest Angley Ministries.

Rev. Angley was preceded in death by his beloved wife Esther (Angel), brothers and sisters, Judson, Clyde, Lillian (Tay), Leitha (Pete), Cleo and Bea. He is survived by his dear sister-in-law, Aline, much-loved niece, Gail, and many other family, friends, members of Grace Cathedral and ministry partners.

Reverend Angley will be greatly missed. He was not only a pastor, evangelist and author; he was also a true friend and a spiritual leader who cared deeply for his staff, congregation and ministry partners. They all loved him very much.

Rev. Angley’s legacy comes from his own words — “If I die before the Rapture takes place, I’d want these words to be said about me: He pleased God.”

Rev. Angley’s favorite scripture passage was, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6)

Notes of remembrance can be posted at ErnestAngley.org.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until 5 pm on Saturday, May 22 at Grace Cathedral, 2700 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. A Funeral Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 23 at 12 pm at Grace Cathedral in Cuyahoga Falls. Rev. Chris Machamer and Rev. Steve Millar officiating. The Funeral Celebration will be live streamed on the Ernest Angley Ministries’ Facebook page and YouTube channel. Private interment will take place at a later date.

If I were to die before the Rapture, that is what I would want to be said about me—that I pleased God.

-Ernest Angley

Put the work of God above your very life; be willing to die for His name’s sake. I have told the Lord many times that if I can bring more people into the Kingdom by my death than by my life, so be it. In whatever way the Lord wants to use me, I want to be used. I don’t want to live a moment longer if I can’t win souls.

-Ernest Angley

No matter what comes their way, they know they must finish their work for the Lord. And then however they die, however the Lord can get the most glory out of their lives, they are willing. I know I am willing for the Lord to take me or use me however He wants to win souls for His work and for His divine purpose to be done.

-Ernest Angley

The Bible tells us in Acts 14:22 that Paul and Barnabas advised people to continue in the faith. They wouldn’t always be there to talk to them personally to bring them out of feelings. I say that to you today: Even if I’m not with you, you must continue in faith, not your feelings.

-Ernest Angley

If the Rapture doesn’t happen first, the Lord in a wonderful, gentle manner will light the path to Heaven all the way. Not even a shadow will darken the valley.

-Ernest Angley

I have told the Lord many times that if I can bring more people into the Kingdom by my death than by my life, so be it. In whatever way the Lord wants to use me, I want to be used. I don’t want to live a moment longer if I can’t win souls. I live to help people, to bless them.

-Ernest Angley

I have a standing order with the Lord: “Dear Jesus, anything that I ask you must be done according to your divine will or I don’t want it, no matter what I say. I just want prayers answered that are according to your divine will. Oh, please God, look at all my tomorrows and work accordingly.”

-Ernest Angley

I live to do God’s will. If He sees fit for me to make the Rapture, good; but if He sees fit to take me home before, that’s all right, too. If He wants to sacrifice my life to bring in more souls to His Kingdom, so be it. Whatever He wants, I want. Jesus died for me, and I’m willing to live or die for Him.

-Ernest Angley

My Journey is a short one; and although I know I may go home by way of the grave, I believe that I will meet Christ in the air in the Rapture.

-Ernest Angley

I have committed everything to the Lord; I have nothing left to give. Whether I live or die, all of my strength and every part of me belongs entirely to Him to use in any way that He desires. I can say with the Apostle Paul, For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand (II Timothy 4:6).

-Ernest Angley

  • Rev. Ernest Angley.
My friends , Relatives, classmates and myself have been blessed, inspired taught, anointed by the Holy Spirit, through your Miracles handkerchiefs, teaching tapes and books, especially the books titled… ‘“THE DECEIT OF LUCIFER”, “WHAT MEANETH THIS”, and Many More biblical study materials, and your monthly magazines.

The selfish desire to respond to God’s call upon my life and that of my friends in school, was quickly ignited and endorsed with uncontrollable Charisma in Power demonstration of healings, miracles, signs and wonders, when we read that you went to sell in Germany because of the Soul winning and Evangelical mission in Germany.

And now, by God’s grace and help, we’re all God’s servants, working for the Lord’s kingdom as Prophets, Apostles, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers in Ghana, USA and UK. Our ministries through the Social Media, have reached Millions of souls globally, as God wills.

Our fear for God and passion to surrender all to Jesus Christ and His Holy Father, “God Almighty” through the Holy Spirit was fueled up by all the books, magazines and preaching tapes you sent me monthly, since 1998-2021

May the Holy Lord of HOSTS keep you in His beautiful dwelling place forever, may your children and children’s children of all generations to come, be blessed forever, for the good work of the Lord you selflessly considered first in your entire life since age 18 till Death in Christ, which you successfully carried around the globe wherever you went, in order to save the lost souls.
We will forever miss you, yet forever in our
beautiful hearts from Africa; love you all and Grace Cathedral in Jesus name.

  • I am in the ministry today because of the Rev. Ernest Angley. I first saw the miracle power of God through this Jesus ministry when I was a small child watching on my grandmother’s old black and white television. Rev. Angely used to come to Nashville, TN near where we lived.

I witnessed many visible miracles in the early 80s through the power of the Holy Ghost operating through Rev. Angely. Today I am happy to say that I am enrolled in the Ernest Angley Bible College, still learning from this great man of God. I have now been in ministry for over 26 years. I just hope to one day have an impact on someone the way Ernest Angley impacted my life early on. Much love to this wonderful Jesus ministry. May it continue until the Rapture!

  • Dear Reverend Angley
I visited your crusade which you held in Soweto township in the city of Johannesburg South Africa in 2014. Your preaching was filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. I fell and l began to cry. I will never forget that day. I tried at that time to reach his ministry but could not succeed. I just saw now that he no more, that he went to meet his creator. I am very much saddened by his passing away.
May his soul rest in eternal peace

  • When I lived in Rochester New York, I would watched Rev. Ernest Angley Ministry. I also enjoyed watching the singers every Sunday. I believe this began when my Father brought me a book titled the rapture. I was living in the Island of Jamaica at the moment.. I read the entire book, and cried like a baby. I got saved, and stayed saved. After I no longer have television and lived in a new state, I only keep up with everything online. Oh what an awesome man of God. My like is changed forever. Good night sir. Wake up in God’s arms.

As Jesus said I have given you the words of my father and if you don’t believe me believe for the works sake. We have believed for the works sake and the evidence we have seen with our own eyes. This man was truly a servant of the most high GOD. “Blessed is he is not offended in me”. Thank You Reverend Angley

  • I remember praying for him this morning! It is about how he had taught me to believe and keep on believing. It is about how he taught me to use the Blood which I now use profusely!  It is about how easily approachable he was! I have found many prominent people to be the not-easy-to-approach-type, even pastors. He was exceptional in that regard! Sad that I could only know about his passing on today! MHSRIP!

  • I got saved in 1977 ..Pastor would be on TV on Saturday night.. I never knew that God healed people.. I was so excited I signed up to go on the bus to a service. I went up being a bus captain on the East Coast. I went to my first crusade and was slain in the spirit. It was so exciting. But I would throw up all the way home. I went through so much deliverance. I just remember him preaching about the unbelievable Jesus and it changed my life. What a wonderful man of God.

  • I thank God for the life of Rev. Angley, God used him to touch my life. I attended his crusade in Zimbabwe and also Mozambique. I used to watch him on the Zimbabwe Broadcasting TV on Sundays many years ago and in 1998, one Sunday night he was ministering healing and he said he said if you believe place your against mine on t.v , I did as a point of contact for my sister who was very sick in a remote village and I had been called to pick her from there. God healed my sister, when I got to the village school where she was teaching it was her who came running to receive me. I always remember and give glory to God for his life
May his soul Rest In Peace

  • I used to read a lot of the Power of the Holy Ghost Magazines back then in 2010. The more I study the materials the more l was hungry for God. I read a Giant Little Book on how to Receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. I prayed along and l was caught up in the presence of God. My room was filled with God’s presence and l received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Reverend Ernest Angely was really a Man of God sent from God in this Dispensation. Now he is with our Lord Jesus and we shall meet again
