Everyone needs the Bible Holy Ghost baptism. How can people tell if they have received this baptism? Is joy the evidence? I was filled with much joy when I was baptized in the Holy Ghost, but I had also felt much joy when I received salvation through the blood. Since the Lord could not have given me more joy than the joy salvation brought, joy couldn’t have been the evidence that I had been baptized in the Holy Ghost. I needed other evidence, and that evidence was the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues through me.

Many people think Bible Pentecostal people teach that speaking in tongues is the only evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Not so. Speaking in tongues is the first or initial evidence that the baptism has taken place. Today as in the day of the apostles, no one receives the Holy Ghost Baptism until the Holy Ghost speaks through the person. The Lord, who desires to baptize us in His great power from On High, provides an immediate means by which we can know that we have been baptized in the Holy Ghost.

It’s wonderful how a human being can yield to the Lord in such a way that the Holy Spirit Himself is able to take over the tongue, signifying complete yielding, complete surrender. He has all of a person when He has the tongue.

Like joy, love is an evidence of the Holy Spirit, but not the initial evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism. All the fruits of the Spirit in a life are evidence that He is there. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance [self-control] (Galatians 5:22,23). Without the gift of the Holy Spirit, you will not have His fruits. These are the fruits of the Spirit produced in our souls by the Holy Spirit Himself.

Some non-Pentecostals object to the baptism in the Holy Spirit, say it brings conflict and division into the body of Christ, causes much unrest. They fail to realize that we are not contending for a pet doctrine of our own devising, but for that wonderful Bible experience of those in the Upper Room.

People who deny the evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism obviously don’t have Him. They haven’t accepted enough of God’s truth to let the Holy Ghost baptize them. He can’t baptize them unless He has their tongue, and since they won’t give it over, they fail to receive the Holy Ghost. Attempting to justify this rejection, they claim they are taking the Holy Ghost by faith. They take it by man’s faith and get nothing.

Everyone who is baptized in the Holy Ghost speaks in tongues just as those in the Upper room were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). To Bible Pentecostal people, the value of speaking in tongues is the marvelous evidence of a marvelous experience.

Preaching the truth has always stirred up trouble, for the truth is what the devil fights with all his might. I am the way, the truth, Jesus said (John 14:6). The truth separates people. Jesus said, For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law (Matthew 10:35). Many fight the full power of the Lord. Some people are the only ones in their family who stand for all of Him—much to the disgust of their loved ones. Should we stop speaking the truth in order to fellowship with everyone? We can’t fellowship in Christ unless it is in the truth. Those who don’t want the whole truth, don’t want to fellowship with those who do. Never turn away from the truth. Jesus said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). Know the truth; know Jesus and be free.

Look at the trouble stirred up against the Early Church. Christians were imprisoned, tortured, killed in an effort to bury the truth, but the more they were persecuted, the more they spread this wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ. They didn’t back down; they stood, they grew, they lived in close fellowship. Honest-hearted people wanted the reality of the fullness of Christ.

The experience of tongues at Pentecost is the pattern for receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost today. That experience marked the birth of the Church. The Early Church had Calvary, they had the Resurrection of Jesus, and now they had the Holy Ghost baptism.

Even before the Crucifixion, Jesus had told the disciples, It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7). He would send another, someone besides Himself.

Jesus explained how personal this Comforter, the Holy Spirit, would be, that He would testify through them. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me (John 15:26).

Jesus said that believers shall speak with new tongues (Mark 16:17). Will people accept the Word of God? Will they accept the truth? All who have accepted the Holy Ghost have the baptism of the Holy Ghost or else are sincerely seeking it; they have accepted truth. Believe in all that Jesus said, all that He taught.

The Holy Ghost brings you into close, personal contact with Jesus. No one else can make Jesus real to you the way the Holy Spirit can. You who are baptized in the real Bible Holy Ghost find wonderful reality in Jesus. His life means much more to you now; you have more light on the life of Him. Calvary is lit brighter than ever for you. The Word of God becomes clearer to you, amazes you. Some things you once did not understand are now spiritually discerned, for you have the Holy Spirit to discern them for you. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4). That greater one is a person, and He has set up housekeeping and office work all in one in your life, on the inside of you.

The Holy Ghost baptism brings the power of the Holy Ghost into the lives of individuals. Jesus said, tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49). Jesus was saying that if you want His power, reach out for it.

As an example to believers, Jesus Himself received the Holy Ghost. John the Baptist saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him (Mark 1:10). Jesus is our example all the way. If you want to follow in His steps, you must receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Those who have not received the Bible Holy Ghost are not walking all the way in the steps of Jesus. The walk to Calvary is only part of the walk. Jesus told the disciples to go to the Upper Room and stay there until the power of the Holy Ghost fell on them. They were not to try to do the work of Jesus without that power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). The disciples were to be witnesses of Jesus to the whole world.

The Holy Ghost comes to make us witnesses for the Lord, witnesses for the truth. Those who don’t want the truth are the ones who object to it. If you want the truth you can have the baptism of the Holy Ghost, but if you don’t want it, you can’t have it. Regardless of what you have been taught wrong, it can be destroyed by the Holy Ghost when you yield all to Him, and you will be taught right. He is the teacher.

After Jesus was resurrected, He was seen of about five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep (I Corinthians 15:6). Still there were those who wouldn’t believe, refused to accept Him. They didn’t understand the truth, and today as well, many fail to grasp the fullness of the truth. A person can say he is rich, but if he doesn’t have money he certainly isn’t rich financially. A person can say he has the Holy Ghost, but if he doesn’t have the evidence of speaking in tongues, he does not have Him.

Jesus told His disciples to shut down everything until they received the Holy Ghost: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5). The Holy Ghost baptism is part of the apostles’ doctrine. Those who reject that experience have excuses and rationalizations why they don’t have Him. Where is the wind? they ask. Where is the fire?

When the Law was given in the Old Testament, the trumpet sounded, fire ran on the ground, the angels of God were there. Sinai shook and trembled, but the point was that the Law was given. The Law wasn’t in the fire, in the earthquake, it wasn’t in the trumpet sound; the Law was the Word of God.

At Pentecost neither the fire nor the wind was the paramount thing: it was the Holy Ghost. The wind and fire showed that the Holy Ghost had arrived, evidence for the disciples of that power from On High. Never before had they seen anyone receive the Holy Ghost. Because they believed the truth, the ones who had been told to tarry in Jerusalem were in the Upper Room waiting for Him. When the Holy Ghost came, He convinced them it was He even before they spoke in tongues. They hadn’t known, really, what to look for; they just knew somehow they would receive that power from On High. The Holy Ghost would baptize them and live on the inside of them. As Jesus had glorified the Father, the Holy Ghost would glorify Jesus.

What great excitement, what expectancy filled the hearts of all those in the Upper Room! The impact of God’s greatness overwhelmed them just as the impact of His greatness left the people awestricken when the Law was given.

In reading the New Testament, we don’t find that the wind or the fire experience was repeated, but we do find again and again that people were baptized in the Holy Ghost after they were saved. Every time, the first evidence of the Holy Ghost baptism was tongues.

The wind of the Holy Spirit blew over the city of Jerusalem. Those outside the room must have heard it, those who weren’t followers of Jesus. To the unsaved it would have been a terrifying sound. They may have thought they were on the verge of being destroyed, that the worst storm ever to rampage was about to blow them away. When that mighty sound ceased, I can imagine people running to the area where “those Jesus disciples” were, expecting to find they had been killed. What they saw were the disciples in the streets, and they heard the Holy Ghost speaking through them in all their different languages. For in the Upper Room, the disciples heard the wind and knew it was what they were waiting for. Their hearts shouted within: This is it!

Today as the Holy Spirit begins to take over tongues for the first time, people have that same feeling: This is it! This is the Holy Ghost! I’m being baptized! The Holy Ghost is taking over my tongue! This is the baptism of the Holy Ghost! That’s what the disciples felt: He has arrived! He has come! Thank God, He has come! It was a miracle.

What meaneth this? the people wanted to know when they heard the Holy Spirit speaking through the Galileans. Non-Pentecostals have never learned “what meaneth this.” Many consider the baptism of the Holy Ghost to be fanaticism. But just as they belittle the emotionalism, the Pentecostals denounce “deadism.” Some thank God they are not Pentecostal, and we thank God we are. We thrive in a spiritual Canaan flowing with milk and honey. There are those who have sought long and hard to do away with speaking with tongues. Had they sincerely been seeking the Holy Ghost rather than seeking to refute Him, they, too, could have been baptized in the Holy Ghost. But instead, they call speaking in tongues false doctrine.

Had it been necessary on the Day of Pentecost for the disciples and the others to speak languages that everyone crowded around them could understand, they would have needed no more than the three languages written on the sign that had been placed over the cross. But they spoke many more than three, about sixteen, in fact. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God (Acts 2:6-11).

In the fourteenth chapter of I Corinthians, Paul does not mention spreading the Gospel as a reason for speaking in tongues, but fifteen times he endorses speaking in tongues. Some people, however, claim than in order to spread the Gospel the twelve apostles received the Holy Ghost on the Day of Pentecost, and that was the end of it. Yet how much more we need that same Holy Ghost today to spread the Gospel in this last and final hour just before Jesus comes! More heathen are on the earth now than ever before, more souls to be won. People need to have the Word of God confirmed with signs, wonders, miracles, healings and the fullness of the Holy Ghost. Down through the years, many false doctrines about speaking in tongues have gone forth.

Peter had a mind of enthusiasm, and he was not slow to speak it. But in the trying time of Gethsemane and Calvary, he didn’t stand the test. After Pentecost it was a different story. Peter boldly preached to the same people who so recently had demanded the crucifixion of Jesus: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). Peter really had the evidence of the power of the Holy Ghost! For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39). The Holy Ghost is for everyone.

Some people claim to have the Holy Ghost, but they have not been baptized in Him with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. This means they don’t really have Him. They may have salvation, but not the baptism in the Holy Ghost. As a teenager I sought the Holy Ghost according to the Bible, not to man’s theories. Turning to the second chapter of Acts, I said, “Lord, this is what I want!” Day and night that was the order I put in until I received Him just a few weeks after I had been born again.

The Bible clearly endorses the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

1: Desire spiritual gifts (I Corinthians 14:1).

2: For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God (I Corinthians 14:2).

3: In the spirit he speaketh mysteries (I Corinthians 14:2). These mysteries are sacred secrets.

4: He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself (I Corinthians 14:4).

5: I would that ye all spake with tongues (I Corinthians 14:5).

6: For greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying (I Corinthians 14:5).

7: For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth (I Corinthians 14:14).

8: I will pray with the spirit (I Corinthians 14:15)—in a tongue.

9: I will sing with the spirit (I Corinthians 14:15)—in a tongue.

10: Thou verily givest thanks well (I Corinthians 14:17)—when praying in tongues.

11: I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all (I Corinthians 14:18).

12: In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people (I Corinthians 14:21).

13: Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not (I Corinthians 14:22).

14: If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret (I Corinthians 14:27). This is the order to be kept in a congregation. If Paul did not believe in speaking in tongues, why would he say that one should interpret?

15: Forbid not to speak with tongues (I Corinthians 14:39). Forbidding to speak in tongues is exactly what some churches have done.

The Bible declares that the Early Church continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine (Acts 2:42). Speaking in tongues was one of those doctrines. The baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of tongues is not fanaticism, but a teaching of the Word of God. Yet, some people claim there is no Bible for it. They blame tongues for the ungodly ways of a few. But the Bible says to mark the perfect man, and behold the upright (Psalm 37:37).

There are those who believe that the experience in the Upper Room was not really the Holy Ghost speaking, but that the words came from the subconscious mind. How ridiculous! They state that the tongues at Pentecost—which astonished so many—can be explained by means of psychology in this enlightened age. What does the Bible say about such claims? But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (I Corinthians 2:14).

Unspiritual people do not understand the spiritual things of God: they cannot understand the moving of the Holy Ghost that brings souls to the Lord or the miraculous physical healing power of Jesus that He works through believers. Those who seek to give speaking in tongues a scientific explanation leave God out of the process entirely and limit the Holy One of Israel.

Everyone who excludes God from their plans gets into trouble. Failing to seek God has brought forth many dead churches, provided tombs for congregations. Spiritually speaking, when a dead man stands in the pulpit, skeletons sit in the pews.

Ezekiel saw a valley of dry bones one day, the nation of Israel. Ezekiel 37:1-14: The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Today the Lord looks at the dead churches, asking if these bones can live again. Lord, thou knowest; if you say so, they can. Lord, they are very dead and dry. Those bones will spring to life if they accept the life of the Holy Spirit. The life is in the Spirit of God, but when the Spirit of God is rejected, there is no life spiritually.

Some people claim that those in the Upper Room had the knowledge of foreign languages, the ability to learn languages quickly, that they could speak in tongues because of their language skills. Doubters can’t accept the fact that the Holy Ghost was the one speaking as the people yielded to Him. By the same reasoning they could say that Peter must have had some surgical skills to have been able to tell a lame man to rise and walk. Acts 3:2-9: And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Did Peter suddenly learn how to perform surgery? Did those in the Upper Room suddenly learn how to speak in many different languages? None of those theories make sense. Man tries to explain away the works of God, but still His works stand. The skill of man was no more used in tongues than it was when Peter said, “Rise up and walk.” It was all done through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Why limit God? Why let the enemy influence you to doubt the greatness of God? If you believe Genesis, you can believe the whole Bible. People who don’t believe the New Testament, don’t believe Genesis either. They may say they do, but it is mental assent, not true heartfelt belief in the Word of God.

How odd that many who fight diving healing want prayer when they are sick. Why would God heal people who fight His power? He moves for those who believe in miracles, who trust in the power of God. Sickness is not a love-token from the Lord, not one of His blessings. Cancer is not a love-token. If people really believed it was from God, they would nourish it rather than getting the best physicians they could find to get rid of it. If God gave it to them, why wouldn’t they want to keep it?

God’s miraculous powers were not given to take the place of the Word of God, but to confirm it. Some people have substituted outward manifestations for the Word of God, and they have gotten into trouble over it. The Early Church did not substitute anything for the Word of God. Steadfastly they continued in the apostles’ doctrine.

By keeping steadfast in the Word of God, you will overcome. The Word is your safety. Tongues and interpretations do not take the place of the Word; tongues and interpretations confirm the truth of God. Every message given out in tongues and interpretation must be in harmony with the Holy Scriptures. If not, discard it. God has never given a message through me that didn’t harmonize with the Scriptures.

In the divine visitation in 1954, the Lord told me that the Word would be my safety. He knew I would be learning about the kingdom of Satan, and I would need the power of the Word of God to understand it. He had given me the gifts of healing, and now He was giving me the gift of discerning of spirits. He said that that gift was the most fragile of all the gifts. In other words, a person must be very careful with that gift, must have God’s wisdom and knowledge to use it, know when to speak, when to remain quiet, what to tell, what not to tell. A person with the gift of discerning needs to know if what is being revealed is for his own understanding so he will pray more, or if it is information the person can handle. The Lord let me know that every vision, every manifestation must be taken to the Word of God. If it didn’t stand the Word-test, it was no good. That is the reason this ministry is not in fanaticism or modernism and never will be. The Word goes right down the middle of God’s holy highway.

Luke 21:33: Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away, Jesus said. Second Peter 3:10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. With great violence the heavens and the earth will end, but the Word of God will continue for eternity. Hide in the Word, hold to it. Stay in the Word; it is indeed your safety.

The Bible warns of false prophets. False prophets give out personal prophecies, wildfire not in harmony with the Word. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied (Jeremiah 23:21). The Lord told Israel that if there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee. (Deuteronomy 13:1-5).

When a person tells you something that he claims the Lord said, take it to the Word of God. If it doesn’t come to pass, that one is false. Some have been in prayer meetings where people prophesied over each other, telling all kinds of things to tickle the ears, but the false was in it. The prophecies didn’t come to pass. People are told they have different gifts, but the gifts never operate in their lives.

The Lord doesn’t give gifts through one person’s prophesying over another. Prayer and fasting on the individual’s part are required, and even then the gifts are given only as the Lord chooses. First Corinthians 12:11, But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

The apostles continued in the Word, they stayed in the Word, but that didn’t mean they no longer needed signs, wonders, miracles and healings. The Church was born through signs, wonders, miracles and healings, and the only way the Church will live today is by the Word being confirmed with those miracles.

The great and lasting success I see on the mission fields is because the Lord confirms what is preached; people witness the Word confirmed: The blind receive their sight, the deaf their hearing and the crippled can walk. The testimony of others who have received wonderful miracles through the Lord increases their faith. After I leave that area, the evidence is seen in the lives of those who have received salvation and the baptism of the Holy Spirit, those who turned away from idols and witchcraft and turned to the Word of God. I repeat, we don’t use the signs and wonders in place of the Word of God, but in confirmation of it. The Word is paramount always; it is the infallible Word of God, the highest authority.

In the beginning, Jesus gave the spoken Word confirmed with signs and wonders. Later, when the Word was written, it was still confirmed with signs and wonders. The Lord places true ministers over flocks of people to ensure they stay with the true Word and don’t get into fanaticism. The purpose of the signs is not just to confirm the Word, but also to meet definite physical, mental and spiritual needs. The manifestations of the Spirit within and without, the reality of the Holy Spirit are meant to be received by the whole person. Colossians 2:10: And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

Unbelief has caused people, even ministers, to miss out on the good Holy Ghost. The Bible teaches a definite experience of the Holy Ghost; it comes through the grace of God, and everyone who is saved can have this experience. Receiving this baptism brings a greater concept of the grace of God and His miracles and healings.

Second Peter 1:21: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. The Word of the Lord was their life, their light, their everything. Like the prophets of old, I bow to the Lord, to His Word, to thus saith the Lord. I speak thus saith the Lord. I speak the Word with power from On High. I am called to preach the truth, and I have no apology for it. If I fail to preach the truth, God holds me accountable. The Lord told Ezekiel, When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul (Ezekiel 3:18-21). Ezekiel preached what the Lord gave him. I dare say, no man’s blood was on his hands when he met God at the end of his life’s journey. He was a mighty and true prophet of the Lord.

Many organizations will not let the Holy Spirit operate; He has no say. One minister wanted to rent a church whose denomination didn’t believe in speaking in tongues. This minister had once been a medical doctor, and the church, because of the medical reputation, decided to rent out their church building. However, they wanted a signed contract saying that speaking in tongues would not be mentioned. The minister laughed and said, “You know, I didn’t mention speaking in tongues one time. I just preached the Holy Ghost and ever so many received Him and spoke in tongues. I didn’t break the contract.” No wonder Jesus said, Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16).

The Bible describes John the Baptist as a man sent from God (John 1:6). The only kind of preachers the world needs are men and women sent from God. People sent from God have a message from Him.

In the beginning, the Church had all the greatness of God—until it started to court the world. When people cut back on their fasting, their praying, and their devout living, the fruits and gifts began to disappear from the Church of Jesus Christ. Joel the prophet had a vision of this falling away. Joel 1:4: That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. Different worms of false doctrine and indifference have destroyed the power of God in the Church down through the years.

But Joel also had a vision of the restoration of the greatness of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter days. Peter quotes Joel in Acts 2:16,17: But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh. Thank God, the power of the Holy Spirit is being restored today! The Church had it once, and then lost it. Now God’s true born-again people who have accepted the whole Word of God are getting it back. Yielded to God, they let Him give them all things needed.

Everyone needs the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit is the one who sheds abroad the love of God in hearts. The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5).

Study how the Holy Ghost worked in the Early Church. The Acts of the Apostles is really the acts of the Holy Ghost working in the lives of the apostles. We see the Holy Ghost in action throughout that book, even when a man and woman lied to the Holy Spirit and were killed for the lie. The power of the Holy Ghost separates.

It will take the power of the Holy Ghost to separate right from wrong in this final hour. That’s the reason the Bride will be so separated, saith the Lord, so full of grace. Her veil of consecration will be total dedication to the cause of Christ as she is separated into the truth of God’s power, greatness, love and faith. She will speak the truth, stand for the truth, live in the truth, and not give over to that which is unholy.

When part of the truth of the Word of God is left out, part of God’s love and faith are left out, too, as well as the nine fruits of the Spirit. How can you have the fruits of the Spirit if you reject the Holy Spirit?

Those who speak against tongues are on dangerous ground. Saying that speaking in tongues is of the devil is blasphemy. Some people have already sealed their destiny, driven the Spirit of God away from them, and He won’t deal with them anymore. Some say hideous things about the Holy Ghost and don’t care. God has left them, and they feel no condemnation.

When God sends you to do His work, He sends the greatness of Himself with you, and souls will come into the Kingdom. When the greatness of God is ignored, the church is robbed. It’s robbed of the nine fruits of the Spirit, of the nine gifts of the Spirit, and the Spirit is grieved. The devil is a robber, and many people have become robbers as well by not accepting, obeying and speaking the truth. Ministers who come against the Holy Ghost baptism have robbed their people of the Holy Ghost dwelling within, our helper, our guide. One preacher told the congregation that if that preacher ever felt the need of their having the Holy Ghost, that preacher would let them know. I didn’t wait for some preacher to feel the need for me to have the Holy Ghost. I felt the need, and I received Him.

The promise of the Holy Ghost was made to you and me. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:38,39).

Accept the truth and nothing else. Carry nothing false with you. Salvation entitles you to the reality of Calvary and the grace of God in your heart, a clear, new way of living. A pure conversation comes with true salvation; all sin is left behind as you step into the new and living way to walk the highway of holiness. There is much joy and peace in salvation.

Many who think they have been born again, have not really experienced true salvation. Because they have not surrendered everything to the Lord, they are not made brand-new; they just have turned over a new leaf. Consequently, they battle, still say curse words, still tell little white lies, still have nasty talk. The new creature washed in the blood of the Lamb no longer speaks like that. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). Jesus, the second Adam, makes you like the first Adam before the fall. Jesus gives you His mind, a mind pure and clean. It’s a mind that thinks the Bible way.

When I received the Holy Ghost after I was saved, I was carried away with Him, taught and embraced by Him. He had become a wonderful friend to me. I loved to have Him take over my tongue and speak; I loved to have Him sing through me in English and many different languages and dialects. Wanting to rush into my prayer room, close the door and be with the Spirit, I could hardly wait to be alone with Him. It was the highlight of the day. The world didn’t draw me at all now. Once so familiar, it had become foreign to me. Immediately I left it behind. It wasn’t a different world; I had become a different person, changed.

To have this precious leadership of the Holy Spirit is an incredible privilege. You who have the baptism in the Holy Spirit are blessed; it’s a blessing God wants all to have. You who don’t have Him: Accept the truth concerning God’s baptism, accept the whole will of God, and you, too, can have the baptism.

Receive the Holy Ghost, and He will speak through you. Everyone needs this power from On High. It took the power of the Holy Ghost to launch the Church, and it will take this power to make the Church what Jesus wants it to be in this last and final hour. Joel, remember, said that the Spirit would be poured out. Thousands have received the Holy Ghost in my services, and they all spoke with tongues. People who never before had heard the Gospel received salvation and then received the baptism of the Holy Ghost when it was preached to them. In moments of time thousands were baptized; it was the power of God in action.

Study the Acts of the Apostles, how the Holy Ghost worked. We can expect every bit as much of the Holy Ghost’s power, but on a bigger scale, saith the Lord, in this our final walk. With signs and wonders it will be done.

It takes God’s signs and wonders to convince the heathen that God is real and ready to move for them. The Christian world has spent billions of dollars to get the Gospel to India, and still India is only about two percent Christian. One of the ministers who had been there told me he doubted that more than half of that two percent were really born of the Spirit of God. They had heard the Gospel preached without the signs and wonders. The Word wasn’t confirmed.

I went into India through the Hindu people, but I went in with the truth. I hadn’t found enough Christians in Bombay to have a crusade. The Hindus didn’t know about Jesus, and so I told them, and then I started praying for the sick. God confirmed what I had preached; people listened and went out to tell others. By the thousands they came to see what God was doing. He performed miracles, miracles, miracles. Many came to Jesus.

How can people be turned to the true and living God? Though the power of the Holy Ghost. Everyone needs this power, and He is here for every believer to accept. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; …they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17, 18).

How many ministers are casting out devils today? If they have the Holy Ghost, where is the evidence? Where is the confirmation? How many are being saved? How many are being delivered and filled with the Spirit of the living God? How many alcoholics and drug addicts are being set free in an instant? In one of my services in the United States, over two hundred lined up to be delivered from drugs and alcohol. They were devil possessed. I went down the line praying for them, and just about every one of them was slain in the Spirit. When they stood up again, they were free. The power of God did it.

Many cannot deliver alcoholics; he can only try to control the habit. With God, the devils have to come out, and the person is set free from alcoholism. That’s the power of Jesus. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). If you still are tormented with the desire for alcohol, how could you be free? The devils are not out. When Jesus sets people free of alcoholism, they are free entirely. Through the power of the Holy Ghost we can trample devils underfoot, deliver the devil-possessed and set the captives free. I believe in Bible Pentecost, in living holy in the righteousness and holiness of God.

If you need Jesus, pray this prayer with me now: Oh, God, Save my soul! Forgive me for all my sins. I’m so sorry, Lord, that I sinned against you, but I have come home. I’m going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. Now I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins, all of them! Come into my heart Jesus! Come on it!

If you meant that prayer, He has come. If you meant it He is yours. Start reading your Bible, praying. Some Bible fasting will help you.

Have you received the Holy Ghost since you were saved? You can receive the Holy Ghost right there in your own home. Lord, Lord, I’m calling the Holy Ghost upon those who are saved and who want all that God has for them. Help them to lift up hands without doubting. In the name of Jesus, the holy, holy name of the Lord, I call the Spirit upon them in the name of Jesus. Receive ye the Holy Ghost! Receive ye the Holy Ghost in the name of the Lord.

You who are sick and afflicted, I am not a healer, but I believe in the one who is. I believe in the power of healing prayer. Lord, as the people believe your promises of healing in the Word of God, heal them altogether. Make them well, whole. Heal the people today of cancer, heart trouble, blindness. Heal those crippled limbs. Make sick bodies well today. Heal! in the name of Jesus. Heal! in the all-powerful, holy name of the Son of God! His power is moving. If you have believed with me, God’s power is going into your body or into your child’s body, and it will work day and night to get you or your loved one well.

Walk with God. Write and tell me what you received today, and remember, there is nothing like the baptism of the Holy Ghost. When people yield, make that complete surrender to the Lord, give themselves over to the Holy Spirit—their whole being—the Lord is free to move in miraculous ways. He will be able to do much with the Bride because she will walk and live in the Holy Spirit, following the steps of Jesus. The supernatural utterances from On High are thrilling to Bible Pentecostal people.

Millions of people have received the baptism in the Holy Ghost, and they all spoke in tongues, beginning with the one hundred twenty in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost. You will have to have Him to prepare you for the Rapture, or you definitely won’t be ready. Everyone needs the Bible Holy Ghost. Remember, He is power from On High.
