We are living in a very late hour, so you have to hold on to the things of God every day. Through John the Revelator, Jesus said to the church in Sardis, Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast (Revelation 3:3). He said to the church in Philadelphia, Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown (Revelation 3:11). Only by holding on to what you receive from God will you be able to endure to the end.

Once you are saved, you must hold on to your salvation and never sin again; or you will lose it. Jesus said, He that endureth to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22). The devil will try to discourage you and cause you to let go, but don’t listen to him. Look only to Jesus. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him [the joy of seeing you and me saved] endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus gave all He had to bring divine blood from Heaven; and when you look to Him, He will give you all the strength you need to hold on.

Hold to These Things

You must hold on to the promises of God given in His Word, and every one of them is yours when you meet its condition. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise (Hebrews 10:36).

You must hold on to the great love and peace of God. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27). God’s peace is not of this world, and it is perfect. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3).

Are you holding on to troubles and trials or the promises of God? Are you holding on to heavenly joy or the pleasures of the world? Don’t look around to see what your unsaved loved ones are doing because that will steal your joy. Never let people rob you of anything you receive from the Lord. Just hold on to the greatness of God and the divine blood, and you will be all right.

You must have confidence in the Lord, your God, and hold on to it. The Bible says, Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward (Hebrews 10:35). You must keep your confidence in God and love the Lord with all your heart. With His loving arms around you, you will always make it.

Jesus, the Word

Jesus came to Earth as a man and walked the same paths we are to walk, and He gave us what we need to follow them. He walked through the same valleys, and He lived by the same promises we are to live by. He endured all kinds of torture and was finally crucified on Calvary; but He held on and defeated death, hell and the grave for you and me. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory (I Corinthians 15:55)? Jesus said, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).

Jesus was the Word made flesh. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14). That Word brought great deliverance. It made unholy people holy, and it gave righteous people the faith to hold on to all the things of God they had seen and heard.

There is no reason not to hold to God when you have the Word to show you the way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). Hide it in your heart and let it bring life to your body and soul. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:20–22).

Paul Never Let Go

Paul endured great suffering on this Earth, but he never let go of God’s plan for him. The Lord said to Paul, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness (II Corinthians 12:9). You too must be determined to follow God’s plan and defeat the devil.

Paul said, I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day (II Timothy 1:12). Take that scripture to heart and let it get rid of all your fear and despair and give you strength to hold on. Paul knew he had nothing more to commit to God, and he knew God would take care of him just as He did His Only Begotten Son.

Paul tells us to prove all things; hold fast that which is good (I Thessalonians 5:21). Hold on to God’s unchanging hand, and you will never walk alone. He [the Lord] hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5). You must walk hand in hand with the Lord every day you have left on this Earth.

Never Doubt God

Noah didn’t let go of the plan of God even though it was a plan of separation and endurance and one that would take a lot of strength to complete. He and his family were surrounded by evil persecutors, but they stayed holy before God and worked many hours to build an ark. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood (Genesis 6:13,14). The Lord went on to tell Noah exactly how to build the ark. It took him and his family 120 years to complete that ark, but they held on to God and finished the job.

The widow woman held on to what the prophet Elijah told her during a great famine, and the Lord provided all she and her family needed. When Elijah arrived at the widow woman’s house, she was gathering sticks to make one last, little cake for her and her son; and then they would starve to death. But Elijah told her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth (I Kings 17:13,14).

That woman knew Elijah was a man of God, so she obeyed his words and held on through faith. Then the miracle of supply took place. You too have to hold on to God’s promises without any doubt. The Bible says, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord (James 1:6,7). You can never let your faith waver.

God promised Abraham He would give him a son even though he was 100 years old, and Sarah was 90. And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him (Genesis 17:19). It took God 25 years to fulfill that promise, but Abraham held fast to the plan of God through faith because he knew God’s promises were true.

Lot Held On to God

Lot held on to what the Lord said when the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were going to be destroyed. Two angels warned Lot to take his family and leave saying, For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it (Genesis 19:13).

The angels were leading Lot, his two daughters and his wife out of the city; but Lot’s wife didn’t hold on to the words of the Lord, and she looked back. And it came to pass, when they [the angels] had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:17,26).

There are many Christians today who are just pillars of worthless salt because they are looking back to the world rather than holding fast to the things of God. When you hold fast, you are moving forward, not backwards; and Jesus is your everything. That means He is your faith, so why would you ever doubt? Why use human faith when you can use divine faith? Human faith fails, but divine faith never fails. It brings victory every time!

Holding On Brings Victory

Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, and he was persecuted for years. He was lied about and sent to prison; but through it all, he held on to God. Then God made him second in command over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou (Genesis 41:39,40).

Daniel had been captured, taken from his homeland and made to be a slave and a eunuch. Under such awful circumstances, many people would have given up on God; but Daniel loved God with all of his heart, and he held fast to Him. Daniel was thrown into a lions’ den and should have surely died; but because he held on, God protected him.

When the king checked on Daniel the next morning, he said, O king, live forever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt (Daniel 6:21,22).

The Hebrew boys were told they would have to bow to an idol or be thrown into a fiery furnace; but like Daniel, they held on to God and didn’t compromise. The fire was so hot that it killed the men who threw them in; but when the king looked into the furnace, he was astonished to see not just the three boys but a fourth man as well. He asked, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God (Daniel 3:24,25).

Those three boys had paid a big price, but they never let go of the promises of God; and the Lord was with them in an amazing way. You can’t let go of God or His promises either.

Hold On Through Faith

Divine faith is what will give you the strength to hold on, and the Bible says faith is a gift from God. God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3). As you use that measure of faith, the Lord will give you another and another. You can have as much faith as you need as long as you hold on, believe God will do what He has said and use the faith He has made available to you.

Study Hebrews 11, the faith chapter. Those saints of God suffered horrible persecutions and faced many trying situations, but they held on to God with great, divine faith. Today, many of God’s people are too easily discouraged, but that should not be. God has a perfect plan for all of His children to follow that will give them the strength, the courage and the ability to journey on.

If you want to follow the plan of God for your life, you can’t hold on to a promise of God for just a little while and then let go. You have to continue to hold on through prayer, fasting and living in the Word until that promise is fulfilled. Only through those three steps will you be able to endure the suffering of this life and have divine, miracle power working for you all the time.

Accept Jesus and Hold On

Bible days are here, and you must hold fast to all God has said because the Rapture is just ahead. Jesus said, Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:44). There is just one flight out, and you can be on board if you are spotless before the Lord. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).

If you are unsaved today, it is time for you to reach out to Jesus while you still can. Then you must hold on to Him for the rest of your life. Say this prayer right now: Oh, God, save my soul. I am so sorry I sinned against you, but I have come home; and I will serve you for the rest of my life. Forgive me, Lord. I know you died for me, and I believe your shed blood washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!

If you meant that prayer, now you can say, Hallelujah! Jesus has come. Hallelujah! He is mine, and I will never let Him go.

Hold On for a Miracle

If you are sick and afflicted, reach out and claim God’s healing promises. You may have AIDS, cancer, heart trouble or some other deadly disease; but the blood of Jesus can heal you of anything if you will just look to Him.

Some of you don’t hold on to God for your miracles and healings as long as you should, and that is why you don’t receive. You have to hold on to God’s promises and never give up. The devil will tell you that you’ll never get well; but the Lord said, I am the LORD that healeth thee (Exodus 15:26).

Lord, I bring the sick and afflicted to you. I curse all deadly diseases in their bodies. Lay a healing hand on those with cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, lung trouble, paralysis or any other disease or affliction. Re-create the brains of the little, deformed children who were born with just part of a brain. Give them power to walk and talk just as you have done again and again. In the holy name of the Lord, deliver them. Heal! in the blood name of Jesus. Heal!

Now, believe God’s miracle, healing power is working for you and get well, but you must serve the Lord and live for Him if you want to keep what you have received. The Lord healed sinners when He was here on Earth, but then He told them to go, and sin no more (John 8:11).

Receive the Holy Ghost

Now, you must go on to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. When you do, you will have the power of the miracle-worker living inside you; and He will make you a witness for the Kingdom. Jesus said, But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8).

The Holy Ghost will do so much for you in this final hour; but most importantly, you must have His power working within you to be able to meet Jesus in the air on Rapture Day. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).

Many people don’t believe in speaking in tongues, but that is how the disciples first received the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The Holy Ghost is still available today to all who will obey the Lord and receive the Spirit. And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32).
