It was cold and snowy as we boarded the plane for our journey to Durban and Cape Town, South Africa, but the weather couldn’t dampen the overwhelming enthusiasm of those anticipating what was to come. Each missionary journey is a new battle for the Lord, and we go forth as soldiers of the Cross to fight the powers of the devil and bring precious souls into God’s great Kingdom. And the Lord reminded us of that several times before we left.

Rev. Chris Machamer, the associate minister who travels with Rev. Angley to foreign fields, preached the weekend before we left and compared us to an army on the move—one armed with the Holy Spirit in the nations, in the cities, in the villages and in the hospitals and schools.

Then just before God’s plane, Star Triple Seven, took off, Rev. Angley reiterated that we were on a mission for lost souls. He prayed, “Lord, we’re one great army for you…we have the blood…we’re carrying it to the people, and the blood will set them free.” We were ready to overcome anything that the enemy wanted to put in our way and ready to win many souls for the Lord.

Arrival in Durban

We arrived in Durban, South Africa’s Zulu Heartland, on Tuesday afternoon and were greeted in the hotel lobby with a traditional song and dance. The hotel staff had been anxiously anticipating our arrival. Our work began immediately with the distribution of thousands of pamphlets, books, magazines and tapes to the tour members. Then, bright and early the next morning, we were out on the streets freely passing out this literature and spreading the good news of the upcoming services. Durban is the third largest city in South Africa with nearly 3.5 million people, so there was a lot of work to be done in the week ahead.

Working in Durban

During the next few days, we not only worked on the streets, but groups of our tour members visited a senior citizens’ home, a primary school, a home for the blind, a large hospital and a home for abused girls. A visit to an AIDS orphanage resembled Christmas in April as the love gifts of Grace Cathedral congregation members enabled tour members to shower these children with toys, bracelets, stuffed animals, coloring books and various necessities as well.

Rev. Chris Machamer had a unique opportunity to make two visits to a male juvenile prison. Word of his coming spread after the first visit, and his audience more than doubled in size when he returned. These boys were hungry for his message of divine hope and deliverance. Our foreign missions’ director had been given permission to take a group into a women’s unit as well; but when they arrived, they were initially denied admission until God’s message in song melted the heart of the on-duty officer. Soon she was escorting the group into the prison chapel where the female inmates had already begun gathering.

Durban Ministers’ Meeting

Thursday morning brought the ministers’ meeting. Although normally housed in a conference hall or sports arena, this one offered a more intimate and sacred setting in an historic, old Anglican Church. A rather solemn and reverent crowd had gathered, and they remained extremely focused throughout the morning. From the moment Rev. Angley began to speak, they seemed to drink in every word. Apparently, they had never heard the whole truth preached in this fashion, and they were mesmerized.

Rev. Angley began by telling those assembled that all the miracles they were about to see as well as the greatest miracle of all—salvation—come through the blood of Jesus. Then he launched into the message by stating, “Anyone who doesn’t live free from sin doesn’t believe in the God of Heaven.” He continued by teaching them from the first volume in his most current series of books, “Living Free From Sin.” He brought them the truth about conditional eternal security, and he gave them Bible answers for the seven most popular arguments in favor of the damnable doctrine of once saved always saved. Then, to their amazement, he gave each one a free copy. It was obvious that they were not used to receiving such valuable gifts.

Love Is the Way

But the Gospel is not a harsh message. Rev. Angley said, “God doesn’t make us serve Him; He shows us love.” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

He explained that love is the most important of all the spirits of God and said, “Man and woman are just empty shells without the love of God. That’s the first thing you receive when you get to Calvary.” And with God’s great love flowing forth, he said, “If I can help you to move in a little closer to God, then this meeting will be worthwhile for the Lord.” The more Rev. Angley spoke to them, the more they opened their hearts to him. God was already breaking down the walls.

Shortly after the ministers’ meeting concluded, the majority of the tour members were back out on the streets while others visited a juvenile prison and another women’s prison. There was still one day left before the crusade services began, and every soul was important to God.

Friday Service

Friday night arrived, and it was time to begin reaping the harvest in the first service. When Rev. Angley took the platform, he immediately turned the focus onto the one and only Savior by exclaiming, “God is in this place! I bring you Jesus!” He then introduced The Cathedral Trio. Now, the audiences in Africa always love the trio singing in their respective native languages, but this crowd’s reaction was priceless. The first number featured each of the trio members at different times throughout the song; and as each one began to sing, the crowd clapped and cheered louder and louder. The love of God and the joy of the Lord were taking over the service.

Then the Lord began moving for people in the crowd. One man was close to committing suicide, and the Lord revealed that he would have gone through with it that day had the Holy Spirit not drawn him to the service. He had AIDS and had been responsible for his wife’s death; he couldn’t forgive himself, but God in all His great mercy was there for him. He gave his heart to the Lord and was gloriously delivered. This was a marvelous revelation to the crowd that God truly does see each individual. Another young AIDS victim had sinned and received the disease from her boyfriend. God offered her forgiveness as well; and, thank God, she accepted. She also went home healed and delivered. Another man with just three months to live received a magnificent miracle of re-creation for his heart.

Miracle Testimonies

The miracles were already speaking to the people in a marvelous way; but their faith rose even higher when Rev. Angley presented Sifiso, a young man who had been deaf and mute and was healed six years ago in a Swaziland crusade. He testified to the people that he now attends public school in South Africa, speaks three languages and is looking forward to taking Ernest Angley’s Online Bible College courses in the near future. He feels called to preach the Gospel.

Rev. Angley then brought to the stage four young orphans traveling with us from Lesotho who had all previously tested positive for AIDS. The head of the orphanage came to one of Rev. Angley’s crusade services in 2005 expecting God to move. She was never touched by the man of God, but God revealed her heart’s cry to Rev. Angley; and all four were made completely whole. They brought the medical documents to prove their miracles, and the crowd went wild.

For the next hour, person after person crossed the platform receiving marvelous miracles for deafness and no sense of taste or smell. These miracles immediately reveal to the people that God is moving. Until now, they had never seen the God of miracles at work; and they jumped to their feet, shouting and praising the Lord. The Lord continued to amaze them throughout the remainder of the service and left them wanting more.

The service concluded just as a soft rain began. The Lord had given us the perfect window of opportunity to minister to the people uninterrupted.

Saturday Service

The next morning gave the tour members one last chance to reach the people—more streetwork, another prison and a hospital visit filled the day. Even taxi drivers taking our workers to and from their various duties are given music recordings and other special gifts as they’re told of the wonderful things God is doing. We don’t want to miss one soul marked for us to win.

The theme of God’s great love continued in the second service. “Jesus has love for each and every one of us,” Rev. Angley told the people, “and that’s why there will be miracles in abundance tonight! When you get a miracle, it lives!” And the people yielded so beautifully that God came down to them in a great way. “The Lord is here,” Rev. Angley told them. “It’s now a takeover by the Holy Spirit; it’s His great love.”

The Cathedral Trio sang a beautiful song entitled, “Precious Jesus,” and the Lord began to move during the song as seven people received healing for AIDS.

This night was dedicated to the deliverance of those possessed or bound by the devil, and Rev. Angley taught the crowd about “The Deceit of Lucifer.” People have to understand their enemy before they can be truly free, and Rev. Angley presented many Biblical and present-day examples of people who were devil-possessed—he explained how they came to be in that state and then how the Lord set them free.

They Were Set Free

“Devils are real, and there are so many devil-possessed people today,” Rev. Angley said. “Do you want to be free? The Lord sent me to set you free with His power.” Again the people yielded, and the Lord revealed that the sky was lit up with the fire of the Holy Ghost. “When this happens,” Rev. Angley said, “the devil just has to back off.” Rev. Angley led the people in the sinners’ prayer; and as they began to say, “The blood…the blood,” the demons had to go. So many were set free that Rev. Angley exclaimed, “The angels are rejoicing with us tonight!”

As Rev. Angley prayed for people on stage, the Lord moved through the faith of those in the audience, and they received miracles in abundance as well: 205 for re-created stomach nerves, 1121 for back conditions, 1903 for battles of the mind and hundreds more for re-created knee caps. God is mindful of and able to heal any and all afflictions.

God was truly moving in to be this people’s Savior, Deliverer and Almighty Father. Rev. Angley confirmed this by telling them, “The Lord is going to be a greater reality to many of you than you ever thought He could be. You’re going to have a greater walk with Jesus than you ever thought possible. The Lord is reaching out with such arms of love that it’s just astounding!”

The service ended with a mighty deliverance for a devil-possessed teenager. She had been screaming and writhing so much throughout the service that at times it took three or four men to hold her down, such a vivid demonstration of just how completely the devil and his demons can take over a human being. As Rev. Angley ministered in the invalid section, the devils in this girl began to act up one more time; and Rev. Angley cast those devils out by the power in the blood of Jesus. The young girl was instantly set free and in her right mind. She returned Sunday night, and the dramatic change in her eyes and on her countenance made her look like an altogether different person. This is just one example of why we sacrifice everything to take the Gospel to the world.

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning brought opportunities to minister in the local churches, many of which are housed in small lean-tos made of tin, tents or even garages; but as long as the true Word of God goes forth, the Lord blesses the people. Our tour members traveled in teams to over thirty such churches where they gave personal testimonies, preached messages of God’s great love and truth and distributed thousands of pieces of literature to be used as church libraries. We had several teenagers traveling with us, and their testimonies had a significant impact on the young people in the local congregations.

Final Service

Sunday night was our last service in Durban, and we had our largest crowd yet. Rev. Angley had promised great deliverances for AIDS, and the people had come to receive. “You have to realize that AIDS comes from hell, and the blood of Jesus will send that deadly disease back there. The Lord will forgive each person for their sins, but they must go forth to sin no more.”

The Lord had mercy on a bitter backslider whose husband had gone astray. He had returned and given her AIDS, and she blamed God for it. But the Lord revealed that when she came to the service on Saturday night, she felt God’s love for the first time; and she repented. She returned this night, and God gave her complete healing for her body as well.

A thirty-two-year-old man was about to commit suicide that afternoon; he had the gun to his head but was distracted by a barking dog. “God caused that dog to bark; He has given me the revelation for you,” Rev. Angley said. “That dog saved your life and God brought you here tonight. You are healed of AIDS but you must serve the Lord.”

Many others received AIDS miracles throughout the service as the Lord revealed case after case to Rev. Angley. There were thousands of miracles for various other diseases as well—far too many to number. The Trio returned for one final song, “Four Days Late.” Rev. Angley specifically told the audience, “God is always on time; this is a miracle time. You’ve been brought into the loving arms of the Lord.”

Leaving for Cape Town

The next day, Rev. Angley summed up our first week beautifully when he addressed the tour members on the plane as we prepared to leave for Cape Town: “Mission accomplished. We have done what the Lord called us to do. Those people had never seen miracles, and they were so excited. I’ve never seen people that were drawn so to the Spirit of God…they were reaching to heaven…thousands of devils went out of them, saith the Lord, just like defeated armies…God was there in a mighty way…That’s what the blood will do…We carried God’s love to them, and they will never be the same.”

A few short hours later, we landed in our next soul-winning station and were ready to go again. Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa, and our eighty tour members couldn’t even begin to reach the over 3.5 million people living there; so we concentrated our efforts in the more needy outlying areas where the crusade services were to be held. The first week, we worked southeast of the city in the township of Nyanga. This was our second visit to this area, and Rev. Angley said that the year before we had swept the hungry people into arms of love. It was good to be back; and we were looking for great things to happen. The second week we headed an hour north to the suburb of Paarl.

Working in Nyanga

God’s love works miracles, and doors that had been closed last year were beginning to open. Teams of our tour members were welcomed to visit the large Groote Shcuur Hospital, noted for performing the first heart transplant. God performed heart transplants of His own there as our tour members prayed, and the Lord transformed lives both spiritually and physically.

In the psychiatric ward, the Lord changed the life of a man who had tried to commit suicide four times…and he intended to try again the moment he was sent home. It took an hour to fight the demons off of this soul, but it was worth every minute when he finally repeated the sinners’ prayer and flashed a genuine smile for the first time in months. His daughter, who was visiting, was filled with tears, thanks and praises to the Lord. She was totally overwhelmed at what the Lord had done! And the man who initially wouldn’t even make eye contact with anyone accepted a hug and gave one in return as God’s love filled his heart for the first time.

Nyanga Ministers’ Meeting

After two days of concentrated streetwork, it was time for the ministers’ meeting, and many turned out to welcome Rev. Angley back and to hear the pure Word of God. The message of Living Free from Sin is such a vital one at this time that Rev. Angley focused on it for this gathering just as he had in Durban. This seemingly simple concept is so neglected and misunderstood that ministers must be given the whole truth to pass on to their congregations. “Jesus came saying that He was truth,” Rev. Angley told the ministers, “and God only lives in truth.” He further instructed them to take any teaching that they hear to the Word of God, and “if it doesn’t fit 100%, then throw it out!”

Rev. Angley went on to teach them many important truths from his new book; and once again, he offered them a free copy—if they would promise to read it, study it and share it. “Preachers, you need to preach this to your people. They need this, and it will bring miracles.”

Focusing their attention on the upcoming crusade services, Rev. Angley asked, “Are you ready to get off that boat and walk the waters and have a revival?” He then continued, “I’m here with you today because I love you, and the Lord told me to come back to you. I am here on a divine mission. The Lord will be there, so you be there and be ready for God to bless you. We’re going to have the greatest revival we have ever witnessed!” He then left them walking the waters and saying, “Lord, here I come.”

Friday Service

The following night was the first crusade service. It was cold and windy, but the people turned out; and the crowd kept increasing as the night went on. Rev. Angley got both their physical blood and their spiritual blood flowing the moment he stepped onto the platform and exclaimed, “I love you! It’s good to be back with you. We fell in love with you; you stole our hearts…God is here tonight, and He let me know that I must come to you…I’m sent by God.” Then he had them all wave their arms and cry, “Jesus!”

“The promises of God are yours,” Rev. Angley declared to the people, “and the Lord Jesus came with healing in His wings for all diseases, including AIDS. The Lord taught me to use the divine blood that He sent when He gave us Jesus, His Son.”

And to show them that blood miracles are real, Rev. Angley first brought Sifiso to the platform to testify. Then he asked Sister Mavis to bring the four young orphans on stage, and she told about their healings for AIDS. The crowd cheered enthusiastically! While the testimonies were going forth, the faith of those in the audience was mounting higher and higher; and the Lord let Rev. Angley know that six people had just been healed of AIDS. Among them was a grieving mother whose family had been literally wiped out by the disease. Another young mother gave her heart to the Lord, and her HIV-positive baby was instantly made well; but Rev. Angley reminded her that she must teach her youngster the ways of the Lord.

See Jesus

Rev. Angley preached a message of hope and deliverance entitled “It Was Jesus.” “I want every one of you to see Jesus and take Him home with you tonight. Let Him put His loving arms around you and deliver you now.”

Rev. Angley so wanted them to see the miraculous Jesus that he was marching back and forth across the platform exclaiming, “See Jesus…see Jesus!” He told them that when they’re born again, Jesus moves in to live inside of them. “Recognize Him tonight and be healed!” Rev. Angley declared. “Recognize Him and be saved; recognize Him and receive armfuls on purpose for all your needs to be supplied.” He desperately wanted his Jesus to become everything to these people.

As they started to really see Jesus—some of them for the first time—the Lord began moving for them. A man whose wife had died with AIDS which he had given her couldn’t forgive himself, but God forgave him and made him whole. A woman with cancer of the breast was facing its removal, but she had stalled the doctor until this service. God honored her faith and made her well. A diabetic was to soon go totally blind, but God gave that person perfect sight. God also performed a touching miracle on the platform as He graciously gave a young deaf and mute girlfriend and boyfriend their hearing and speech. They heard one another for the first time, and Rev. Angley told them that they could now look forward to starting a wonderful marriage together.

Rev. Angley then let the people know that God can heal ten thousand just as easily as one if they would only believe, and the service closed with thousands of mass miracles: 471 for back conditions, 376 for allergies, 921 for blood conditions, 1288 for nerves, 1202 for skin conditions, 1375 for sleeplessness, 1500 for feet and leg conditions. God had moved in a great way!

Saturday Service

Saturday morning, the tour members headed toward the crusade grounds for one last chance to spread the news about the services…but this morning they had many good stories to share from the night before.

That evening’s service was one that Rev. Angley had promised would be dedicated to the deliverance of drug addicts, alcoholics, those in witchcraft or those bound by the devil’s demons in any other way. He humbly told them, “I want to see the people delivered tonight; I give my life for this.”

His unusual sermon title was “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” He taught them that “the good” were those living for the Lord, those with the seven spirits of God: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness and faith. Rev. Angley then continued by going into more detail about the greatest of the seven—love. “Divine love is greater than any other love on Earth,” he told them. And he made it clear that God displayed the unbelievable depths of this love when He gave His only begotten Son for a sinful world. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). With these seven spirits, God can truly make a beautiful person.

“The bad” that Rev. Angley referred to are those living life without God but who still have a chance to be saved if they will repent with godly sorrow. They have to truly be as sorry for their sins as God is that they committed them. “The ugly,” however, are those who have rejected God for the last time; they will be damned forever with no repentance. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God (Psalm 9:17).

Thousands Set Free

Rev. Angley gave each person a chance to be included among “the good” as the entire crowd said the sinners’ prayer together. Those who were sincere were now in a position to accept deliverance, and Rev. Angley had them repeat, “The blood…the blood…the blood.” The more they said it, the more the people gave over to God’s mighty power; and He took control in a way we had never before witnessed on the mission field. Thousands were being set free in just a moment of time. When the Spirit finally lifted, Rev. Angley said, “I’m in the vision, and you’re in the cloud of His presence. If you could only see the glory as I’m seeing it. If you could have only watched while the devils were going out of people…they were rushing away like defeated armies.”

But the Lord had not only set them free, He had also healed their bodies. “There have been so many of you healed,” Rev. Angley said, “and a great number delivered of AIDS. It was a holy takeover by the power of God.” But the Lord wasn’t finished yet, and Rev. Angley declared, “It’s a healing time; it’s marvelous what the Lord is doing. There’s a lot of faith here, and we’re reaching to heaven tonight. The Lord is cleansing so many bodies. You have never, never been in a service like this, saith the Lord. So many of you have yielded, and God is really moving. Many of you will never be the same, and your Christian walk with the Lord will never be the same. The Lord is making beautiful people tonight.”

God then proved that He could indeed make anybody into a beautiful person as He totally delivered and saved a confessed witch who had made her way backstage. That service was bound to live in the hearts and minds of many of us for weeks to come.

Sunday in Nyanga

Sunday morning, the tour members met with the local pastors and split up into teams to join them in their worship services. This is always a highlight of the week because it gives our workers the chance to meet with the people in a more intimate setting. They can share personal testimonies, answer their questions, teach their children, and they return with great accounts of God’s love in action.

Sunday night brought the last service in Nyanga. It had been cold, rainy and windy; but as service time approached, the Lord moved in with a greater calm than we had seen all day, and masses of people turned out. Rev. Angley greeted them with these instructions: “Put everything under the blood; everything that you put under the blood, God takes care of…that’s using faith in the blood. I make no room for doubt in my spirit. Why should I doubt the great God Almighty…the hands that were nailed to Calvary for you and me? The name is Jesus.”

Rev. Angley explained that he is just an instrument of God that the Lord uses to bring miracles to the people. He told them, “By love and faith, I put your hand in His, and that’s my part. The rest is up to you for you to believe Him. It’s that simple.”

A Night of Deliverance

This night was dedicated to deliverances from AIDS, and God began moving immediately. Fourteen children and five babies were healed of AIDS as Rev. Angley talked about the miracles of the four children from Lesotho. God saw the tears of a young mother in anguish over her three ailing children, and He delivered them all.

Then came an amazing revelation of a twenty-one-year-old man with AIDS. He had intended to hang himself that afternoon. The rope was already draped over the tree and around his neck when a huge flock of birds made a commotion and distracted him. He fell down on his knees weeping, and God moved on him to come to the service. “That was no accident,” Rev. Angley told him, “that was God.” Rev. Angley commanded the suicide devils to leave him, and then God delivered him from AIDS. “But you must serve the Lord,” Rev. Angley told him. What a beautiful display of God’s great love. This was now the second time the Lord had revealed His intervention in an attempted suicide to save a soul from eternal damnation.

Give God a Chance

Rev. Angley’s message was “Give God a Chance,” and he began by saying, “A number of you here tonight are going to die if you don’t give God a chance…God is not going to heal you so you can go out and serve the devil. God only heals for His honor and His glory.” For I am the Lord, I change not (Malachi 3:6).

“God’s promises are all true,” Rev. Angley declared. “It’s been said that there are over 37,000 promises in the Word of God…and there is one for everything you need here tonight. Let Him show His great love for you…His great power for you. Jesus will set you free.” If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36).

The Lord was about to move in a mighty way to close out this crusade, and Rev. Angley declared, “The Lord is ready to make you whole! He is the same Jesus…and He has come down to walk with you tonight. He is ready to set the captives free from sin and sickness!” And the service ended with thousands of mass miracles and a powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The Lord had filled the people to the brim with everything they would need to live and work for Him.

Work Continued in Paarl

While still praising God for the mighty services, we turned our attention to Paarl where we once again faced the enormous responsibility of spreading God’s Word and the news of the weekend services ahead. Although this was our third time to start over, it was to be our biggest challenge yet because the people were more spread out than they had been in the other two areas. We would need to work a little harder and dig a little deeper; but the Lord provided the strength, and we set about our awesome task with renewed enthusiasm. Before we left for Africa, we were told from the platform that it was our responsibility to invite the people; and it was God’s responsibility to do the rest. We were going to keep our part of the agreement.

God began moving right away as one of our streetworkers approached a very unassuming man and invited him to our services. This turned out to be a divine appointment. The man was a local judge who was Spirit-filled and had been praying for the Lord’s help and guidance concerning his people. When he sentenced them, he felt such an overwhelming burden for their souls that he had contemplated leaving the bench to go into the ministry. But this day, his prayers had been answered, and he threw the doors wide open for some of our tour members to minister in two of his city jails.

God continued to prove that He is faithful to His promises as He made the way for our people to minister at a Red Cross children’s hospital, a home for abused girls and at a prison chaplain’s morning devotions with his volunteers. Rev. Machamer was given the opportunity to speak at a large prison compound where he ministered to those in the men’s unit and then met with the young male inmates several times. He had such success that the officers also allowed him to go into a special area housing some of their most violent inmates. God’s anointing makes it all possible.

These opportunities and the many street-work efforts were once again preparing the people for another mighty weekend.

Paarl Ministers’ Meeting

Because there were four services as opposed to the usual three scheduled in Paarl, the ministers’ meeting took place on Wednesday. The pastors here had unusually sweet spirits, and Rev. Angley felt tremendous freedom in teaching them. He introduced them to “The Reality of the Holy Ghost and His Mantle of Power,” and he let them know that it all operates through God’s great love. Divine love is what speaks to the people in foreign fields more than anything else.

“God used all of His love when He gave His only begotten Son for us, and He has no more love to give…God loves people, and He wants us to be like His Only Begotten, living free from all sin.”

“Divine love will separate you,” Rev. Angley explained. “When we get up in the morning, we should be able to say Lord, I present to you a holy body, a holy soul, a holy life through Jesus Christ.Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you (II Corinthians 6:17). The pastors had to realize that only divine love and holy living would take them to Heaven, and they had to live them and preach them before their congregations. I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service (Romans 12:1).

Rev. Angley let them know just how divine love acts when he said, “In the true family of God, they love each other…it doesn’t matter what color you are…we love each other like the Lord loves us…we lift each other up…self is put down and Jesus rises up.”

“Preachers, it’s time to clean house if you want a revival,” Rev. Angley admonished. “It’s time to let the mantle of power fall on you…it’s the only way to defeat the devil.” They accepted all his words with honest hearts, and the Lord blessed them with a marvelous revelation. “I’m in the vision,” Rev. Angley humbly told them, “and the glory of the Lord has filled the house…and the great miracle star of Jesus is moving for us…I’m watching it move right toward the people in your nation.” God had prepared the pastors to believe and receive for themselves and for their people during the services.

Thursday Service

The Paarl crusade grounds were nestled in the Black Mountains of southern South Africa; and as the sun went down, the many colors painted on the intricately carved cliffs made a dramatic backdrop for a mighty showing of God’s power.

When we arrived for the first service, a large crowd had already gathered. This sparsely populated area had really turned out to see God move in all His greatness. Since this was our first time there, these people had never seen miracles or heard the whole truth; so Rev. Angley gave them understanding of how God moves. He let them know that he didn’t come to socialize or sightsee. He said, “I stay with the Lord, and I take a new anointing for every service.”

“The angel of the Lord stands by my side as tall as a man when I pray for the sick,” he continued. “He tells me where the miracles are taking place…I never thought such a thing could happen to me. I’m subject to go into the vision at any time. God takes me inside people’s bodies and souls, and I see as He sees. There is no greatness about me; I take none of the glory. I have no secret powers of my own; it all comes from the throne of grace. I see the miracle star over people as they receive mighty miracles, and I see it go inside of them and heal them.”

The Spirit Poured Out

Rev. Angley had really captured the people’s attention, and he continued, “The Lord is pouring out His Spirit in this hour with signs, wonders, miracles and healings. And the more I can get you to honor God, the greater the miracles and the revelations will be. The Lord will be sweeping this place, and there will be thousands healed in moments of time. You can be made whole!” he promised. But he quickly followed up with the fact that God hates doubt. “Faith in God heals the sick,” he proclaimed, “so everyone yield yourselves to God.” The Lord then let him know that many people would be healed of AIDS before the crusade would come to a close.

The people seemed to digest every word, and then the Lord let Rev. Angley know that they were ready. “Faith is running high here tonight,” he said. “I feel faith like you feel heat or cold. Many times it feels as if a person has a string tied to my finger and is pulling on the faith of God that is in me, and they pull me right to them for their miracle. I find you through the faith of God.”

“Are you a believer?” Rev. Angley challenged them. “Do you believe in miracles?” And believe they did as the Lord graciously poured out over 2100 miracles throughout the remainder of the service…and this was just a small sample of what was to come.

Friday Service

On Friday evening, The Cathedral Trio began singing almost as soon as the service began, and they sang for over forty-five minutes. The people love to praise the Lord in song, but God also had a purpose in this. He was getting the people ready to receive miracles in such great numbers…we had rarely seen it on this fashion before.

The Trio’s last song was “Four Days Late,” and Rev. Angley let the people know that there would be nine miracles for AIDS while they sang. “Thus saith the Lord, He has spared your lives for me to get here, and He’s going to heal more than just nine if you’ll only believe. Don’t count yourself out; count yourself in.” At the close of the song, the Lord then revealed the particulars of each case. Among them a young girl whose husband had betrayed her and given her AIDS, a bitter thirty-one-year-old backslider with just five months to live, the two grandchildren of a grandmother who brought them in her heart to the service, and a young baby in the invalid section. God is never too late, and the audience listened in stunned amazement.

The Lord Came Down

Then, the Lord moved in an unusual way and began speaking personally to the people through Rev. Angley. I am here, saith the Lord, and I have come down to you. I love you with an unending love, and your case is a simple case for God to heal. Thus saith the Lord, there is no case too hard for me. I am moving with my mighty hand for you. Yield to my love; yield to my divine faith; yield to my greatness, and I will heal you, saith the Lord. I know your heart, and I’ve heard your cries. I sent my holy prophet to you. Hear my word through him, and do not doubt. I desire to do wonderful things for this people, saith the God that made you. And remember all things are possible; only believe. What a marvelous revelation of the great love and care God has for these people.

Rev. Angley made Jesus even more real to the people with his sermon, “Behold the Man.” He challenged them to behold Him in all aspects of His life on Earth as a man and to see His holy living and divine miracles. “There has never been anyone like Him,” Rev. Angley declared, “and He loves you with an unending love.”

“Get off that boat and walk the waters and receive your miracles!” Rev. Angley exclaimed. “Miracles bring miracle faith for people to use.” And use faith they did as the Lord moved in the audience again and again. In addition to mass miracles of all kinds, the Lord also pointed out many different people for healing and gave very intricate details of their cases. Among them, a woman who had fallen six years ago and injured her right side while washing walls in her kitchen, a man who had fallen on a rock while raking leaves and damaged his spine, and a woman with not just one but six growths in her left breast. All in all, God had performed well over 4000 miracles. This was indeed a miracle night!

More Doors Opened Wide

Although the crusade services were well under way, the Lord was still opening doors in other areas. Tour members working the streets just outside of Paarl happened upon an AIDS house and a TB hospital, and they were given permission to minister to the patients. Many of them were on their deathbeds, and we were able to offer them perhaps their only opportunity to receive the wonderful gift of salvation.

A regional hospital in the same area also provided another divine opportunity. One of the nurses gloriously gave her heart to the Lord and then followed along for the remainder of the visit to interpret for the many other patients needing help. Among them was a burn victim who was in horrible pain, but a smile of relief spread across his face after prayer. God’s timing was also perfect in that it was visiting hours at the hospital, so family members were given literature and invited to attend the crusade service that night.

Every piece of literature is so important; even just one small tract can change a life. This was particularly evident in Paarl as people came to the services carrying the ministry’s new Miracle Tract that they had received on the street; they wanted to see for themselves if miracles were real. Also, people in the healing line testified that a crusade flyer was the only way they had found out about our services, and it was ultimately responsible for them receiving their miracle.

Saturday Service

The Saturday service began with our largest audience yet, and Rev. Angley greeted the people with, “The Lord really loves you people; that’s why He told me to come to you.” And the Lord proved it to them in a very special way by sending His divine angels to join the service, and they moved in in an unbelievable way. When The Cathedral Trio finished their first set of songs, Rev. Angley announced, “There are more angels here tonight than there have been any night thus far. While they were singing, I was in the vision; and many angels were in the air rejoicing. It looked like the Rapture had taken place. The Lord is going to do mighty things tonight, and I rejoice to see the angels.”

Rev. Angley turned to the audience, and the Lord revealed that angels were already touching and healing people: a man who had fallen while painting a house and had broken his leg, his arm and damaged his spine; a forty-seven-year-old who was facing heart surgery the following week; and a person who had been shot in the head and could no longer see out of the left eye or chew on the left side. “There are so many angels here over the people moving, moving, moving,” Rev. Angley said. “Anything can happen tonight.”

He called for The Cathedral Trio to sing “There’s Still Time for a Miracle,” and he said that fifteen people were specifically marked to receive a miracle for AIDS while they sang but that others would also be healed as their faith rose high. After the song, the Lord revealed an AIDS victim who had tried to take his life four times; he thought God didn’t love him. But the Lord proved His great love and made him completely whole.

People Must Honor God

God can only move for those that honor Him, and the Lord sadly revealed that there were eight AIDS victims who were causing a disturbance; and He let them know that judgment would fall. “I’ve battled you and battled you…you’re not honoring God,” Rev. Angley scolded. “So later you will die when you could have had life. And in hell you’ll lift up your eyes, and you’ll remember.”

“The angels will not work under just any circumstances,” he continued. “When people don’t honor God, it causes the angels to back off. When you don’t honor God, you deserve to die.”

God means business! And with order restored, the Lord continued to perform miracles in abundance. “We have had such a visitation of angels here tonight,” Rev. Angley declared. “This has been great preparation for tomorrow night.” And the service closed as the Lord poured out a special anointing for people to receive everything that they needed in the last service.

Sunday Service

After a morning of visiting local churches, it was time for the final service of this trip; and it opened with the local pastors’ committee presenting Rev. Angley with a striking statue of an eagle in flight. It was a beautiful gift, and Rev. Angley exclaimed, “I love it! One of my favorite scriptures is, But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles (Isaiah 40:31). When I look at the eagle, I think of the power of God and how we can mount higher and higher. I shall never forget this night. You couldn’t have given me anything I’d appreciate more.”

Rev. Angley began his sermon, “There Stood That Man,” by giving the account of Peter and John in the temple praying for the lame man who was made whole. The Scribes and the Pharisees wanted to ignore the man’s miracle; but there stood that man healthy and well. “That’s why this ministry is going all over the world because there stands that man, there stands that woman, there stands that boy or girl,” Rev. Angley said. “You’re here because of the miracles…so see that witness…and you can be that man tonight. You can say, I’m healed; I’m delivered!”

Many people did see that man as thousands received healings and miracles for all diseases. The Lord revealed individual and mass miracles throughout the entire service as He poured out His power in abundance to the people, filling them up to overflowing on this final night.

Our three-week mission for the Lord had come to an end, and we had finished our work…but God’s work was just beginning. When we leave a place, Rev. Angley always reminds us that we leave the people cleaned up, filled up and ready to go up!
