Keep this word in mind: Blend. It means to unite, to mix, to harmonize, to bring together. In the Bride of Christ, divinity and the human spirit are brought together, mixed to make one beautiful personality, the Jesus personality. The greatest personality that has ever been on Earth is the Jesus personality.

The Forerunner of Jesus

There are many great personalities in the Bible; first I want to bring to you the forerunner of Jesus, the marvelous personality of John the Baptist. Jesus declared, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist (Luke 7:28). Jesus lifted him as high as any human being could be lifted.

To Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, was this prophecy given: For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:15). And he shall go before him [Jesus] in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord (Luke 1:17).

The mother of John, Elisabeth, was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:41), and she also prophesied. The parents that the Lord gave John were devout, although his father, a great man, doubted when an angel told him that in their old age he and his wife would have a son. Because of that doubt, Zacharias was struck dumb and could not speak at all. Not until John was born did his speech return. Then the prophecy flowed through him concerning his son. His father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied…And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways (Luke 1:67,76). Study the blend of the Holy Ghost in the personalities of John the Baptist and his parents.

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel (Luke 1:80). A marvelous vessel, John the Baptist was strong in the Holy Spirit, powerful in calling people to repentance. He was taught by the Spirit in the deserts—more than one desert—and many came to hear him. In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey. Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him (Matthew 3:1-13). Goodness, mercy and judgment are shown here with no hesitation, a wonderful blend of the spirit of John and the Holy Spirit. How fitting that John was the one who would baptize Jesus!

But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased (Matthew 3:14-17).

John came to bear witness to the Light, and so must we bear witness to that same Light, the Light of Jesus the Son of God. He is the Light of salvation that delivers people from sin and brings them to the Light of Heaven, the eternal Light.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him (John 1:29-32). At first John didn’t know who Jesus was. John said, I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God (John 1:33,34). John saw the Spirit not only descend but also remain on Jesus.

As the very Son of God, Jesus didn’t need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost any more than He needed to be baptized in water. But as the Son of Man related to the human race, as our Elder Brother, Jesus is an example for us to follow. As the Son of man, it was necessary for Jesus to be baptized in water and in the Holy Ghost. Some people declare they don’t need the Holy Ghost. I wonder why not, when even the Son of man needed Him!

John told the people that Jesus would baptize people with the Holy Ghost. For the blend of the Holy Spirit and the human spirit, Jesus is showing us that the baptism in the Holy Ghost is necessary.

This is what Mark’s Gospel tell us about Jesus’ baptism: As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. And John was clothed with camel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey; And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And immediately the spirit driveth him into the wilderness (Mark 1:2-12). Immediately after He was baptized in the Holy Ghost, Jesus went into the wilderness where He fasted forty days.

I like to read what the Gospel writers said about John, about Jesus, about the mix. It helps me know what kind of mix of the human spirit and the Holy Spirit I can have. What kind of mix do you have? Are you mixed up with the world? If so, then you do not have a good mix with the Holy Spirit. If you have been delivered from all sin, sanctified and are walking in the holiness and righteousness of God and yielded to the Holy Spirit, if He lives and dwells in you, you have a good mix. It’s the mix that John the Baptist had.

John’s voice in the wilderness was magnificent. Isaiah the prophet knew about this great voice to come: The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God (Isaiah 40:3). Voices had been heard in Old Testament days, but the voice in the wilderness was the greatest human Holy Ghost voice that was ever heard. Now a voice even greater will be heard in this final hour because it will not be only one voice, it will be all the voices of the bridal company blended with the Holy Ghost as one voice, sounding the Gospel to the whole world in this last hour. What an exciting thought!

I wish we could have heard the voice of John the Baptist. How it sounded out, how it penetrated into the hearts of the people! Light had come for many. Others, while not accepting the message of the Light, still ran to be baptized. John recognized them: O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance (Matthew 3:7,8). The voice of the Bride will stop the hypocrites dead in their tracks just like the voice of John stopped them with the great blend of the Holy Ghost. John hadn’t come to baptize sinners. Water will not wash away sins, only the blood of Jesus will do that. Water baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward change. Before you are baptized, you must repent and find salvation. John plainly told people they needed to repent. The Bride will be just as frank as John.

What Miracles They Saw!

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:18,19). Power and greatness were in that voice, such a drawing that immediately the two brothers left their nets and followed Him. They, at that same time, did not have the right mix in their spirits, the mix with the Holy Ghost. Not until the day of Pentecost were they baptized in the Holy Ghost. As they walked with Jesus, only part-time did they harmonize with Him; He would hold them in that blended channel as He taught them, but then they would get out of that special place Jesus needed them to be. One day James and John came to Jesus asking that they be able to sit on His right hand and on His left hand in glory. But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? (Mark 10:38,40). Peter even rebuked Jesus. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men (Mark 8:32,33). All of the disciples failed Jesus in His dark hour in Gethsemane; not one stayed awake to watch with Him as He had asked.

Are you awake in this last hour? Does the Lord have your ear at all times? Are you alert in the Spirit? Are you listening, are you watching, are you ready to use the right sword, the sword of the Word?

Peter did not have the right mix in Gethsemane. Peter thought he should defend Jesus against those who had come to arrest Him. Drawing out his sword, he cut off the ear of a servant of the high priest. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him (Luke 22:51). Had Peter’s spirit blended with the Holy Spirit, he would not have used his sword to cut off a man’s ear; he would have used the sword of Word of God to touch his heart. Later Peter’s spirit did blend, but in Gethsemane he had more confidence in the sword by his side than in the sword of the Word.

When people don’t have the right blend with the Lord, they make the wrong moves and move too fast. People acting in self rather than waiting for the direction of the Holy Spirit have been a great hindrance to God’s work down through the years. They have not been blended in with His Spirit, His love, faith, humility, determination. They have not blended with all of His greatness, and the human rose up and took control.

When you blend with the Holy Spirit, you have control of the human spirit, for in that blend is furnished the fruit of self-control daily. In the nine fruits of the Spirit you have everything you need to make the perfect blend with the Holy Spirit to work, to harmonize with the Holy Spirit in all that Jesus taught and brought, with everything God has ever said or will say. Having the blend with the Holy Spirit that enables Him to produce the nine fruits of the Spirit in your life, you have nothing to be anxious about. You don’t have to worry about backsliding, about failing to do what God wants of you. In that perfect blend of the Holy Spirit and your spirit comes full assurance; you are rooted and grounded in the truth and you stand wearing the whole armor of God.

Because in the beginning the disciples did not have that blend, they could not stand. Peter was insulted when Jesus healed the man whose ear he had cut off. Even after he had seen all the healings and miracles of Jesus, Peter still resented Jesus for healing the man’s ear—and what a miracle it was! Peter could have yielded to Jesus’ love, but he held on to too much self and not enough God. The night of Jesus’ trial, Peter denied that he knew Him. He began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak (Mark 14:71). This is the Peter who had been with Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration, who had seen the glory of Jesus as He spoke with Moses and Elijah. But even at that time, Peter’s thoughts were on building three tabernacles on top of the mountain rather than thinking how all the power he was seeing could help those in the valley.

When you yield to the human spirit rather than divinity, the Lord cannot help you. God has given you free choice; you can choose Him or reject Him. If self would rather do something other than what God wants, God is limited. Stubbornness and rebelliousness are qualities God hates, qualities that keep you from being drawn into the righteousness and purity of God. People think it’s their right to be selfish, but what they think is their right can be their wrong.

When you love lost humanity, you have vision of going into the valley to rescue sinners. Too often people feel sorry for themselves in the valley rather than looking around to see how they can help others, instead of rejoicing in the fragrance of the Lily of the Valley, Jesus. The fragrance of Jesus will give you great strength, clear vision. When people don’t have the right blend with the Lord, good experiences can turn into bad ones.

Peter fell flat on his face when he did not have the right blend. If you don’t have right blend, saith the Lord, in this final hour, you will do likewise; you will fail your Lord. The only ones who will please God and do the right things that are in the mind and heart of God, saith the Lord, will be those people who blend with His Holy Spirit one hundred percent. They will blend in the perfect mix that God planned, like the blend in Adam and Eve before the fall. God came down and walked in the cool of the day with Adam and Eve, a blessed, wonderful time.

The Lord is seeking to bring everyone into the right blend with His Spirit. He has done all He can: He went to Calvary for the salvation of those who take Him into their hearts and souls. He sent the Holy Ghost to live and dwell with people after He went away. There is nothing left for God to do but to keep reaching out to try to draw people to Him.

The Holy Ghost Fell

Now the Crucifixion and Resurrection are behind the disciples; the day of Pentecost has come. They had walked and talked for a number of days with the resurrected Lord. As they sat with Him, their spirits began to blind with His in the most blessed way. But Thomas was slow in getting the right blend; he doubted for a while and said he wouldn’t believe that Christ had risen. Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:25-29). Thomas must have been astonished. He couldn’t deny that voice; never had he heard a voice like the voice of the Master. He must have felt thoroughly chastened and wished he had never said what he had. When Thomas met the risen Lord he believed. He did away with that doubting spirit and went on to the Upper Room to receive the right blend.

Some of God’s people say the most worthless things in spite of the fact that Jesus warned: Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment (Matthew 12:36). Are your conversations worth anything to God? What kind of conversations do you have? If your words don’t edify and bless anyone for the Kingdom of the Lord, if they don’t have any strength, faith, love, peace, kindness, longsuffering, they are just plain worthless. Think when you are talking. Are you really blessing people? Can you imagine Jesus doing anything less than blessing people who would yield to what He was saying? When He spoke to the leper, Jesus blessed him. He blessed the woman at the well when He spoke to her. Jesus blessed the disciples; He didn’t speak idle words to them.

The disciples, before the resurrection and Pentecost, couldn’t understand all that Jesus told them. They knew He was the most unusual man they had ever seen, a wonder to behold, but they didn’t have the Holy Ghost to help their understanding until after Jesus ascended to Heaven. On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost took them over in such a powerful way that they were never the same again. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4). Notice: They were in one accord, ready for the beautiful blend of the Holy Spirit with their human spirits that would bring about the wonderful personality of Jesus. Cloven tongues like fire—divinity—came down on each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. As the Spirit gave utterance, they spoke in other tongues.

All the light of God’s wisdom, knowledge and glory is shining through the Holy Spirit. The Lord wants us to learn everything we can about Him. He is a person with whom we must be well acquainted in order for Him to be able to mix with our spirit. He will come into hearts pure in the sight of God. The heart must be clean, made holy and sanctified before the Holy Spirit will come in. That is the way the heart, the soul should stay so that the Holy Spirit can continue to be welcome. He cannot mix with a spirit contaminated with sin and disobedience, and He will not continue to remain when He is grieved, sad or neglected.

Your temper can grieve the Spirit. Failing to bridle your tongue and failing to speak with love will push Him away. The Holy Spirit speaks with love and grace; always He speaks the Jesus language to you.

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost, the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead, fell on those in the Upper Room: What excitement, what action went on! When people heard of it, they started gathering from all directions. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this (Acts 2:12)? There was a time Peter couldn’t have explained the meaning. Now the mix is right, and he has the answer.

The Bride will be full of answers because she, too, will have that blend of her spirit and the Spirit of the Holy Ghost in her final walk, saith the Lord. Jesus was filled with answers. John the Baptist was full of answers, and the disciples came to that place, too. They had been full of questions, and now they were full of answers, for they had the wonderful advantage of being baptized in the Holy Ghost.

Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:14-17). He preached a mighty message on the Day of Pentecost, a message that brought people to their knees. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls (Acts 2:41).

What a difference it makes when people yield to the Holy Spirit, when the Holy Spirit lives and dwells on the inside of them! Those in the Upper Room went forth, and people were drawn to them. Now we find Peter and John being asked for alms of a man lame from his mother’s womb. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk (Acts 3:6). This man who had never learned to walk was now walking, and leaping, and praising God (verse 8).

Peter became just like Jesus; the Holy Ghost blended in with his human spirit until Peter took on the Jesus personality. Peter used the same power, the same results as Jesus. Nothing was different in Peter’s voice from the voice of Jesus as he commanded the miracles done. So will it be with the Bride in this her final walk; she will accomplish much as her spirit blends with the Spirit of the Lord.

The Early Church prayed for boldness: Grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word (Acts 4:29). The Bride will have that boldness. She will make sure that the Holy Spirit has a holy blend with her spirit, not that her spirit blends with people around her. Having the favor of the Lord will be more important to her than having the favor of friends and family. Nothing will stand between her and the pure Word of God, the pure message of salvation, the pure holiness of God going forth to others with the light of Heaven in it. The Word of God will convict lost humanity, those with honest hearts.

You will not win loved ones by being afraid to mention Jesus. If they don’t want to talk about the Lord, leave them alone. Be ready to preach, pray or die, as the saying goes; and take on the mind of Jesus. Check to see if your mind is operating in harmony with the mind of the Lord. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). How can you take on His mind? With the blend, the mix of your spirit and the Holy Spirit in perfect harmony. Self must be put down; die out to self.

Jesus told the disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). Denying self was where they had a problem: They couldn’t keep self denied enough to keep up with Jesus all the time. Many are like that today, keeping up with Jesus only part-time because they won’t deny self enough. To keep up with Jesus all the time, you must deny self all the time.

The Lord always comes before self. Day and night give Jesus top priority in your life. His call is more important than anyone else’s. How many times do you let other voices call you away from the Lord, from what God wanted you to do, from prayer, fasting, the Word or something else you were doing for Him? You laid aside what He wanted and did what you preferred.

Samual Was God’s Property

Samuel is a special character in the Old Testament. His personality blended with the Holy Spirit. All of his life, Samuel was full of the Lord’s Spirit. His mother, Hannah, had been unable to have children. Weeping, she made a vow to the Lord in the house of God: Give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life (I Samuel 1:11). She was under such a burden that Eli the priest thought she was drunken. And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit…out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto. Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him (I Samuel 1:15-17). The Lord had been waiting for her to make her vow. She didn’t ask her husband what he thought about it; her vow was between her and the Lord. No more did she cry; it was settled. She had that full assurance that God would answer her prayer—and He did. Hannah bore a son and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD (I Samuel 1:20). After he was weaned, she took him to the house of the Lord and Eli the priest.

Some people make a covenant, and when God fulfills His part, they forget all about what they had promised. Hannah did not forget. She told Eli, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD. For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD (I Samuel 1:26-28). Parting from the son she had wanted for so long must have been very difficult for Hannah, but the love of God helped her.

Hannah prayed a beautiful prayer: My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty men are broken, and they that stumbled are girded with strength. They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he hath set the world upon them. He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed (I Samuel 2:1-10).

It took more than human love for Hannah to give up her son so that God could have the priest He wanted. It was a mix of her spirit and the Holy Spirit. God gave her that mix; He knew she would need it.

The sons of Eli, who would have been priests after Eli, were ungodly men. Eli was warned that God would cut them off, and that both his sons would die in one day. Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house…And this shall be a sign unto thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas; in one day they shall die both of them. And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind (I Samuel 2:31,34,35). God put great trust in young Samuel, and Samuel did not fail to do all that the Lord said.

Samuel’s mother saw him only once a year when she went up to the house of God. Each year she brought him a new coat. Her love could measure just what size coat she would need from one year to the next. God looked out for Samuel, kept him separated from the world, even from his own family. The Lord lived with that child. I don’t believe the Lord let him be lonely, but made him satisfied in His presence.

When you are full of the Holy Spirit and the human spirit is right, you have a perfect blend that brings great contentment in the presence of the Lord. You just love to be in His presence, yearn to be with the Lord at the times you are drawn away by the duties of life.

And the child Samuel grew before the LORD (I Samuel 2:21). How wonderful to grow in the presence of the Lord! You who are growing in the presence of the Lord know to some degree what Samuel was experiencing. You are gaining knowledge of the Scriptures, becoming stronger in the Lord and able to use more of His wisdom and to talk the Jesus language. The Lord is giving you more and more understanding of His ways. Happiness and peace are yours, and you are using them.

And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men (I Samuel 2:26). People who came to the house of the Lord admired Samuel, looked upon him in respect. Many parents wished they had sons like him. Samuel was God’s property; mother had given him to the Lord. The Lord raised him up—a child who would do everything according to the heart, mind and will of God.

It will be the same with the Bride of Christ in this last hour. God is bringing up a people who will do everything in the heart, mind and will of God. The Bride is growing up in His presence, His greatness, His wonderful love and peace, in all of His wisdom and knowledge. She will do the whole will of God, all that God has in His heart and mind.

Never has there been a time of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit like there is in our day. The beginning of the Church received the early rain of the Holy Spirit, and the Bride is receiving the latter rain. The early rain was great, and the latter rain will be even greater; more people will be included in this rain.

And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision (I Samuel 3:1). Samuel was on a divine mission from the time he was born. He was God’s child. There was no open vision until one night when the child Samuel was awakened by a voice calling him. He thought it was Eli. And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again (I Samuel 3:5,6). Samuel had never heard God speak his name before. The Lord knows all His children by name.

The Lord called Samuel’s name the third time. Again Samuel ran to Eli. Eli finally understood that it was the Lord calling Samuel. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth (I Samuel 3:9-10). I can picture the boy going back to bed, lying there eyes wide open, waiting for the voice to come again. He must have been thrilled to find that it was God calling him. Think how you would feel if someone told you that the voice you had heard was God calling you. When He calls again, just say: Here am I! When Samuel answered God the first time, it must have thrilled God, too.

God told Samuel in that first visitation that He was going to destroy the house of Eli. Eli, remember, had already been told this. The sons of Eli had robbed and mistreated the people, commit adultery and fornication with the women at the doors of the house of God. Samuel went back to bed. He didn’t dare tell Eli, but Eli could hardly wait until the next morning to find what the Lord said. He wanted nothing omitted; Samuel told him everything , that his place in the Lord was gone and the Lord was going to destroy his sons, take the priesthood from the house of Eli.

And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground (I Samuel 3:19). Israel went to war against the Philistines. Eli, ninety-eight now, is told by a messenger that Israel has fled before the Philistines and that Eli’s two sons have been killed and the ark of the covenant taken. And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he [Eli] fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died (I Samuel 4:18). The revelation had been given years before it happened.

All the days of his life Samuel would hear and heed the voice of God, and the Lord would hear Samuel. Samuel would have a direct contact with God. That is the blend of a human personality with the personality of the Lord in Old Testament days, the same blend the Bride will have with the Lord as she recognizes the voice of God.

Study the life of Samuel; learn that the voice of the Lord will come to His children, those obedient ones in this hour. The voice of the Lord will speak again and again to the hearts of His children. He will be very close to them.

Many times people have been deceived; the devil made them think they were hearing God talk when it wasn’t God at all. But the Bride isn’t going to be deceived, saith the Lord. The Bride will be so close to the Lord that she will know His voice and she will do His whole will. How could the Bride carry out the desires of God’s heart and mind unless she were close to Him? He is her beloved. There will be no voice in her hears like His voice; and there will be no voice to the Master, the Lamb of God, like the voice of the Bride, no voice like His beloved.

The apostle Paul said, I know whom I have believed (II Timothy 1:12). Paul knew the wonderful blend of his spirit with divinity, with the Godhead, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost.

Keep the blend in mind. Some people don’t get much out of the Word of God because they don’t keep in mind the things the Lord wants them to. Learn how to study the Word of God, how to be with Him, how to let the Bible be the most exciting book you’ve ever read. Yield to the drawing power of the Word; spend time with it daily. Feast on the Word of God; love the Word and the faith of God. Love His love, peace, goodness, mercy, salvation, baptism in the Holy Spirit and all His greatness.

Although he was grieved that Israel wanted a king, Samuel anointed the first king of Israel, Saul. God told Samuel to hearken to their demand: For they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them (I Samuel 8:7). Samuel knew it wasn’t God’s divine will.

In the beginning, Saul was humble, lowly, dedicated to God; much was in his favor. He had a magnanimous soul, a forgiving spirit. When people wanted to kill those who had opposed his being king, Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to-day the LORD hath wrought salvation in Israel (I Samuel 11:13).

Saul started out well, but as time passed, he began to fail God. He lost his compassion. Demons took him over, and he went into fits of madness.

Samuel told Saul that the kingdom had departed from him. God had had enough. Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night (I Samuel 15:10,11). And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons (I Samuel 16:1).

Samuel anointed David to be king. He anointed David in spite of the fact that had Saul known, he could have had Samuel killed. In Saul God had chosen the best He could find, and now that one had fallen into a totally degraded state. It took David with the glorious anointing of the Lord to make music to drive back those demonic spirits—if only briefly.

Later Saul openly sought to kill David, but David spared Saul’s life when he had a chance to kill Saul. Even though Saul was backslidden and rejected by God, David respected the fact that at one time he had been the anointed of the Lord. And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’s anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD (I Samuel 24:6).

Study the life of Samuel and it will help you see how you, too, can have the blend of the Holy Spirit with your human spirit, but you must yield one hundred percent to the Holy Spirit, to the blood of Calvary. There cannot be one sin in your life. Be pure, clean and holy through the cleansing blood of Jesus. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16). God brought that holiness to us when He sent Jesus with His divine blood from Heaven who made it possible for you to be free from all sin.

The Bride will recognize the voice of the Lord calling her just as Samuel of old learned to recognize His voice. She will yield to that call like Samuel did, yield in such a wonderful way that she will do all the Lord has in mind for her to do. The Lord has much in his heart and mind for the Bride in this her final hour. In this blessed, wonderful hour, you can blend with the Holy Spirit in a marvelous way, yield to Him completely. There isn’t anything else in the whole world like this blend.

The disciples became spiritual giants over night, a mighty force for the Lord, great voices in the land. Kings, priests and others shook under the power of the Lord. Rome did everything it could to still their voices, but even persecution and martyrdom didn’t stop the spread of the Gospel.

The Bride’s voice will not be stilled, saith the Lord, in this her final hour. Her voice will ring out loud and clear. Shining through her, the light of God will illuminate the darkest corners of the world. Those that sit in darkness will see great light. Many of them will come to the Light, and many will not; but the Bride will be the voice of the Lord. Her hands, her eyes will be the Lord’s. She will look with His love and compel the lost to come to Jesus; from the highways and hedges she will compel them with His love. The poorest of the poor will be reached and adorned with the riches of Heaven in this final hour of harvest.

We will speak the voice of the Lord; the Spirit of the living God will be great within the Bride, the blend wonderful. Sowing and reaping, the Bride will lift her voice in perfect blend with the Holy Spirit, and thousands will be saved and baptized in the Holy Ghost in a moment of time.

The heavens will open; the glory of the Lord will be in the eyes of the very obedient. They will look on that which the saints of God have looked on in the past. How wonderful to see an angel of the Lord, to see the humility, to study the eyes, pools of love!

When angels speak, they speak in the first person; they speak as God Himself. That’s the blend of angelic beings with the Almighty, angelic beings in perfect harmony with God. No doubt, no fear comes between them and God, only love. No force compels them to obey; angels are willingly obedient to every thought of God. As you study them, you want to move in closer and closer.

Only the Holy Spirit can make you like Jesus; you cannot do it within yourself. Only by yielding to the Holy Spirit can you walk and talk just like Him. The holy blend is brought about by divinity. The Bible tells us to be like Jesus, walk in His steps.

The Early Church became just like Jesus. They did His wonderful works on a larger scale than Jesus was able to do them. You can be like Jesus, but only through the Holy Spirit using the blood. If you have salvation, it is through the Holy Spirit using the blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the agent who applied the blood to your soul. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit you can walk in the footprints of Christ. The blend of the human spirit and the Holy Spirit enables a person to walk like Jesus, talk like and be like Him.

I love the Holy Spirit, the greatness of Him, the way He talks, moves, possesses a soul. I never tire of seeing people being baptized in the real Holy Ghost. No one teaches them to speak in tongues; they speak as the Holy Ghost gives utterance. I have seen the Holy Spirit baptize thousands; their lips tremble, stammer, and in another tongue the Holy Spirit takes over and speaks. As I see those lips tremble, I recognize the working of the Holy Spirit. “That’s the power of God,” I say. “Let the Holy Ghost come in, saith the Lord!” In a divine visitation many years ago, the Lord told me I would call the Holy Ghost upon people and that I should say as His power came upon them: “That’s the power of God. Let the Holy Ghost come in, saith the Lord!” We are witnesses when we recognize the real Holy Spirit.

Before you can be baptized in the Holy Spirit, you need salvation in your soul. If you don’t have Him, let me pray the sinners’ prayer with you now. Oh, God: Save my soul! I am so sorry that I sinned against you. But I have come home, and I’m going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come into my heart! If you meant that prayer, He has come; He is yours. Start praying, reading your Bible; Bible fasting will help you, also. Go on to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. He is for you.

O Mighty God, we thank you today for sending the good Holy Ghost, for making it possible for each one to have a personal baptism in the Holy Spirit, for each one to have the Holy Ghost living and dwelling on the inside. To be taught, directed and used by Him, we thank you oh Lord. We know that with His guidance we will gather the harvest and be ready to meet you, dear Jesus, in the air. We will be ready because we have put our trust and confidence in your glorious Holy Spirit who lives and dwells on the inside, who has come to Earth to get a Bride ready for Jesus.

You who have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, close your eyes a moment and think about that time when the Holy Spirit came in. You who don’t have the baptism, lift your heart to the Lord and ask Him to baptize you in His glorious Spirit, His glorious love, His glorious faith and power, wisdom, understanding and knowledge. He is here; the name is Jesus and He loves you.

Yea, saith the Spirit of the Lord: I am moving for you to receive my glorious Spirit. I am moving for you to let my Spirit possess you. I am moving for you to yield your mind, your soul, your body to my Holy Spirit so that you can be used by my Spirit, so that you can be fed by my Spirit, and so my Spirit can help you, even help you talk to me and make intercession for you when you know not how to reach me your heart is so heavy. With groanings my Spirit makes intercession for my people. Receive my Spirit, you that are without my holy baptism. Receive my power from On High. The devil is seeking to keep you from my Spirit. He knows that you will be made strong in my greatness. He knows that it will be through my Spirit the spots and wrinkles will be removed from people’s lives in this final hour, and they will be made ready for the coming of their Lord. My Spirit is for all, and I promised to give my Spirit to all that will obey me. Yield not to self, but yield to my Spirit, and you will be filled with my Spirit, filled with my Spirit, filled with my faith and love and greatness, filled, saith the Lord.
