When he, the Spirit of truth, is come (John 16:13). These very words of Jesus refer to the Holy Spirit. It is wonderful to have the Spirit of Truth! You cannot have Truth without the Spirit of Truth being in you. He seeks to lead you in the paths of righteousness and into all the greatness of Heaven. You will never keep the Spirit of Truth and harbor deceit at the same time. The Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, cannot direct your life unless you yield it to Him. When you disobey God, you block the leading of the Spirit of Truth. Never does He handle or serve that which is not truth; He can help you no other way. If you don’t yield to the Truth, you will not be free for Him to help you.

Jesus said, Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). To know the Truth, you must live in the Truth, let it be a part of you. As you yield to the Truth, the Holy Spirit becomes your great teacher of Truth and Truth only. He seeks to teach you all the things of the Lord, every benefit that you have through Jesus Christ, things you never thought possible to have.

Jesus, our example, received the Holy Ghost when He was here on Earth. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him (John 1:32). Many claim they don’t need to receive the Holy Ghost, that they could never pattern their lives after the life of Jesus. Yet He is our example. As the Son of God, Jesus didn’t need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, but as the Son of man Jesus received the Holy Ghost. Jesus came not only as very God; He came as very man. Since Jesus needed the Holy Ghost for the human flesh, it should be obvious that the human flesh needs the Holy Ghost.

Jesus told the disciples, Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you (John 16:7). The Comforter, the Holy Ghost was given after Jesus went away. The Holy Ghost is a person, the third person in the Godhead. Jesus said, I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:16-17).

The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus: He shall testify of me, Jesus said (John 15:26). The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus’ love, grace, redemption, humility. He knows all the subjects of Heaven, has all the wisdom of Heaven and brings all the grace of Heaven. He is prepared to comfort, to serve, to bind up and to heal. With the strength of Heaven He comes to give victory and power over all the powers of darkness.

The Holy Ghost is teacher of all things. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26). The Holy Spirit reminds us of all things that Jesus taught. Many have rejected this Comforter, rejected what the Lord said people must have. The Holy Ghost will be given to the obedient: The Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him (Acts 5:32).

The Holy Ghost is the guide into all Truth: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). He will guide you into nothing less than all the Truth. You will never walk with Him, blend with Him unless you are one hundred percent in the Truth. Not even one speck of deceit will blend with Him. You can’t maneuver and manipulate, cover up anything you know grieves the Holy Spirit and still be acceptable to Him. He is God’s peace in the shape of a dove.

Jesus put receiving the Holy Ghost in the form of a command: Jesus being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence (Acts 1:4,5).

Jesus, I say again, was divine and human. Look at His magnificent personality: a blend of the Holy Spirit and the human spirit came together in Christ. What a beautiful personality it was, what a beautiful blend! It was said of Jesus that never man spake like this man (John 7:46). No one had ever talked like Him; no one had ever loved like Him or served the people the way He did. Yet we are to be like Jesus—and we can be through the power of the Holy Ghost and the blood of the Lamb.

When you receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, He comes in to live and dwell, to stay within all the time you yield to Him. Your personality must blend with His, two personalities coming together to make one Godlike Jesus personality.

Jesus said, If any man serve me, let him follow me (John 12:26). We are to follow in His steps. Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps (I Peter 2:21). You can only keep in step with Jesus through the power of the good Holy Ghost. If you don’t let your personality blend with the Holy Spirit, you will not have the personality that the Lord came to give you when He made you a new creature. In that newness you must have the Holy Ghost to give you the blend of personalities the Lord wants, the blend pleasing to Him that will serve and bless.

You as a child of God are to be a living epistle, but if you don’t have the Spirit of Truth, that will be impossible. If you reject the Holy Ghost, how can you have the Spirit of Truth? He is the Spirit of Truth!

In blending your personality with His to make one, the Holy Spirit brings you to the holiness, righteousness, purity, goodness, mercy and humility of the Lord. All the characteristics that Jesus had, all the traits, saith the Lord, come to you when the Holy Spirit and your spirit blend to make one personality, the Jesus personality.

The Early Church disciples had the Jesus personality. When they spoke, it was like Jesus speaking. When they prayed, it was like Jesus praying. They commanded, and the thing was done just the way it happened when Jesus commanded it. They commanded the blind to receive their sight, and they could see. They commanded the dumb tongue to be free, and it was free. Signs, wonders, miracles followed the Early Church disciples and apostles. Jesus said that signs would follow believers: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; …they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover (Mark 16:17-18).

When Jesus walked the earth, the disciples did not have the Jesus personality. John the Baptist, however, did. He had the same love and Spirit of Truth. When you have the Spirit of Truth, you do not compromise. Luke 1:15 tells us that John would be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb. John the Baptist did not grow up with wrong ideas and traits. From the womb, John’s personality was blended with that of the Holy Ghost. To be the forerunner of Jesus, he had to have a special personality. He was the messenger of the First Coming, and we who are messengers to the world of the Second Coming need the same personality. Nothing less than that personality will carry out the work of evangelizing the world in this last and final hour. John the Baptist had the Jesus personality, and you can, too, when you shed off the flesh and walk in the Spirit. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

God will overlook no sin whatsoever. Those who claim they cannot live free from sin do not have the Jesus personality.

Light and darkness cannot mix. Some people claim to have the Holy Ghost, but if that were true, light would have to mix with their darkness. Just because people have once received the Holy Ghost, it does not mean they have kept Him. There is no God in the person who claims to be a Christian, yet is arrogant and cruel, hurting people unnecessarily. His actions cause others to doubt God. But thus saith the Lord, the Lord is sending forth His light, and He is going to shine it into every corner in every life. He will let the world see the real children of God, saith the Lord. That doesn’t mean the children of God will be loved by them, but the world will see the holiness, the righteousness, the purity of God in the Jesus personality the Bride carries. Anyone with the Jesus personality, with the blend of the human and divine, knows that that personality is pure, free from all sin all the time. When you walk in the Spirit you are godly.

John the Baptist did not sin. Because he had the Holy Ghost and yielded to Him, he blended with the Truth. John had the personality of Heaven’s love, humility, joy; and he had vision of his mission. That’s the reason he was satisfied with living in the wilderness. He knew who he was, what he had been born for; and he stayed on his divine mission until it was finished. It cost his life, a life without compromise. He demonstrated the supernatural strength that the Lord furnishes to His children, that wonderful blend of the Holy Ghost and the human spirit.

In the Garden of Eden before the fall, Adam and Eve had that marvelous, righteous personality. How tragic that the devil robbed them of it! We don’t know how long they lived in the Garden before they let sin enter, how long they lived in Truth, walking and talking with God. What closeness, what fellowship they had! When the personality, the character of Adam and Eve changed, God drove them from the Garden. The second Adam, Jesus, bought man back from bondage, died on Calvary so that all mankind could have that sweet personality God loves and wants them to have for all eternity.

Even before Jesus came, God found those with that wonderful blend. Many are under the impression that no one received the Holy Ghost until the Day of Pentecost, but in different people in the Old Testament we see the workings of the Holy Spirit.

Enoch was a man with such a wonderful blend of the Holy Spirit and the human spirit that God would again walk and talk with a human being. Enoch pleased God to the extent that one day God took him home alive.

Look again and see another servant of God: Elijah. There hadn’t been such a one in Israel for many years. Now a prophet was in the land. Cry aloud everyone! Lift up your voice and rejoice for the prophet Elijah! He had the personality of Adam and Eve before the fall, that beautiful, sin-free personality that God loved and could deal with. The fruits and gifts of the Spirit in Elijah’s life proved that the Holy Ghost was with him.

All the true prophets of God—Ezekiel, Isaiah, Daniel, Elijah, Elisha and others—had the Holy Ghost, saith the Lord. The Holy Ghost is what made them so different, the reason they stood up against all sin and would not compromise. The holy prophets of God poured forth what thus saith the Lord. It was hundreds of years before some of their prophecies were fulfilled; other prophecies will take place soon, but they all will be fulfilled because it’s thus saith the Lord. The Holy Ghost gave them. Only holy voices can pour forth the true prophecies of God.

Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, Isaiah foretold the coming of the Messiah. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). What an amazing blend of the human and the divine Isaiah displayed! What a personality!

Daniel the prophet suffered because of the failure of others. Although his people sinned against God, the Holy Ghost dwelt in Daniel. Carried away a slave to the kingdom of Babylon, Daniel upheld his God in every way. King Nebuchadnezzar made Daniel a great man in his kingdom and gave him gifts. Later, King Darius loved him and thought to set him over the whole realm. The men jealous of Daniel’s position tricked Darius into having Daniel thrown into a den of lions. The king was so upset that he didn’t eat or sleep the whole night. Very early the next morning the king went in haste to the lions’ den. O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me (Daniel 6:20-22). The heathen king knew Daniel served God continually. What a personality Daniel had! It’s the personality of the Bride of Christ.

Notice every type and shadow of the Bride in the Old Testament. Roll back the mists through your faith in God, through the eyes of the Spirit, and behold the personality of the Bride.

The personality of the righteous soul in Lot was vexed because of the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. In this hour the soul of the Bride will be vexed because of the sins of the world. She won’t take part in that which is wrong, won’t watch it in the movies and television or read filthy literature. She will feed her spirit nothing unclean. Dining on the holiness and righteousness of God, she will yield only to Him and His Truth. Man’s opinions, the devil’s chatter will not sway her. In each member of the bridal company, the Holy Ghost will live and dwell. We have much going for us, and the devil is trying his best to defeat the plan of God. He won’t be able to. God will have a people small in number, but a people with the personality of the human and the divine. Led by the Spirit, directed by the Spirit, taught by the Spirit, protected by the Spirit, the Bride will be victorious over the powers of the enemy.

People who back away from the Truth, even a little bit, are in great danger today, saith the Lord. One of these days the Spirit won’t draw them; He will let them back away, forever out of reach. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man (Genesis 6:3). God said it, and God stands by it.

Zacharias was told that his wife would have a son, but he didn’t believe it; he thought she was too old. But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb (Luke 1:13-15). John would not just be moved on by the Holy Ghost, but he would be filled with the Holy Ghost. No wonder John had a godly personality even though he was a man! He had a personality like the ones God gave to the first man and the first woman.

Because of Zacharias’ unbelief, the angel Gabriel told him, Behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season (Luke 1:20). The Bride, however, will believe the Word of God and act on it. She will be the hand and the voice of the Lord in this last hour, doing the divine will of God: preaching salvation and the Holy Ghost baptism for each human being. That’s the reason the Lord will be able to pour Himself through her like Heaven was poured through Jesus when He was here; we are to take His place. Jesus said, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12).

You will not be justified in disobedience. Disobediences are weights. The Bible says, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1). If you are disobedient, you carry weights that hinder your race for the Lord. How much longer will He include you in His plans if you persist in disobedience? How much longer before He says, “It’s enough; you’re counted out of this race”?

Zacharias did not believe the angel of the Lord; nevertheless, Elisabeth conceived; and by the time John was born, Zacharias was an enthusiastic believer.

Mary responded very differently than Zacharias to an angel’s visitation. She was told she would conceive, bring forth a Son, a ruler over a kingdom without end. She didn’t question the fact, only wondered how such a thing could happen since she was a virgin. Said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man (Luke 1:34)? Her amazing acceptance was through the power of the Holy Ghost. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35). Mary’s human personality yielded so completely to God that He chose her to be the Earth mother of His Son Jesus.

The angel told Mary of her cousin Elisabeth who hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:36,37,39-41).

When the Holy Ghost came upon Elisabeth, she began to prophesy with a loud voice. If you have been in a congregation where the Holy Ghost takes over a person to give a prophecy for the people, that one speaks out for all to hear. And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb (Luke 1:42). Elisabeth didn’t know what had happened to Mary, but the Holy Spirit did; it was the Holy Spirit speaking through Elisabeth in prophecy. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord (Luke 1:43-45).

Mary received confirmation of what she was told by the angel. Then the Holy Ghost took Mary over, and she, too, began to prophesy. And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever (Luke 1:46-55).

Had Zacharias had the Holy Ghost when the angel came and announced the birth of his son, he would have believed. But he didn’t have the Holy Ghost then. For nine months he could not speak. Finally John was born. Friends and family wanted to name the baby Zacharias after the father, but Elisabeth said no. They asked Zacharias what the child should be named, and he wrote out: His name is John. And immediately his tongue was loosed and he spoke. Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:67-79). That’s what the Bride will do throughout the earth, saith the Lord; she’s going to give light to those who sit in darkness. People will have an opportunity to turn to the light or away from it. The Lord will turn on His light for the heathen in this last hour. How marvelous are the ways of the Lord!

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him (Luke 2:25-33). The greatness of the Holy Spirit, the revelations of the Lord are marvelous indeed!

Jesus Fasted

The Holy Ghost led Jesus, the human part of Jesus, into the wilderness to fast. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered (Matthew 4:1,2).

Jesus was human as well as divine. When the devil came to tempt Jesus, the Lord showed people how human and divinity brought together as one make a blend that the devil cannot defeat. The human personality standing alone is one the devil can deceive, defeat. In all kinds of directions the devil can twist the human personality when it stands alone. But put divinity with it, and the human has the option of yielding to the strength of the Almighty, all the power in the blood of the Lamb, or of giving in to self.

In Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, the devil dealt with the human part of Jesus. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread (Luke 4:3). The personality of Jesus, the divine personality knew it didn’t have to prove anything to the devil. The human and divine personalities, blended together as God intended, have the knowledge, wisdom and thoughts of God.

The devil took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple and dared Him to cast Himself down. The devil knew if he could talk the human part into jumping, that Jesus would be killed. But the human part of Jesus yielded to divinity; the blended personality had the answer: the Word of God.

When your personality is blended with the personality of the Holy Spirit, making one great personality in the eyes of God, you have that strength, that wisdom, that knowledge to recognize the devil’s lies. Knowing you have power over him, you back him off with the Word of God through the Spirit of Truth. How the human and the divine work together is one of the greatest lessons Jesus taught us in defeating the devil.

The devil tried to get Jesus to compromise. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it (Luke 4:5-6). In a moment of time Jesus was shown all the kingdoms of the world. The devil offered this power to the human personality.

Although as the Son of God, Jesus could not have been moved, He had put Himself under subjection to everything we are subject to. He made Himself weak to show us how we could be strong. How marvelous to see divinity and the human come together in such a mighty display of greatness and beauty for us! What an unforgettable lesson!

Jesus, remember, could have given over to the devil; the devil would not have tempted Him had there not been a possibility Jesus might sell out. The first Adam sold; Jesus is the second Adam. He had taken on the human form, and the devil knew Jesus had put himself under all the weaknesses of the flesh, weaknesses that the first Adam gave in to. Jesus was very human as well as very God, and the devil tried to deal with the human part. When the devil comes to you, he doesn’t try to deal with divinity, but with your human nature. No matter how much God you have in you, the devil does everything he can to bypass that part and get right to the flesh. When you answer him only with the blend of the Holy Spirit, the devil can’t do anything with you, can’t talk you into doing anything that would grieve the Holy Spirit. Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4).

Again and again I find the Spirit of Truth defeating the devil with what is written. Three times Jesus turned back the devil by what thus saith the Lord. Jesus said, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God (Luke 4:4). He said, For it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve (verse 8). Finally Jesus said, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God (verse 12). It is written, it is written, it is written!

The Holy Ghost-filled people will cry the Truth; they will live it, use it and defeat the devil with it. The personality of the Holy Ghost is offered to every born-again Christian who gives one hundred percent obedience to the will of God.

Jesus was obedient in everything and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8). The Bride will be like Him, obedient in everything. That’s the reason the powers of hell will be trampled, the reason the devil will fear the Bride so much. She will sweep multitudes into the Kingdom in this last and final hour. Every member of the bridal company will be a great light of the Lord to point the way to Jesus for lost souls. That light will shine upon Calvary, glorify it in all its greatness as the Holy Spirit draws to Him those lost ones: Come to Jesus! Oh come to Jesus! He has the answer for your heartache, for your troubled spirit. He has the answer for your wrecked soul. You can be made brand-new, a new Adam, a new Eve walking with Jesus!

Genesis opens with a man and woman walking with God in the Garden of Eden. The Bible closes in the book of Revelation with the Bride and Jesus walking in the garden of life. How thrilling!

In seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you must first be sure everything unlike God is out of your soul. Be cleansed by the blood from whatever would contaminate you in any way, and be made holy, sanctified so that the Holy Ghost can move in. The Holy Ghost cannot come in until He can blend with the human spirit. Keep that holiness of heart, that devoutness before the Lord that you had when you first received Him, that dedication and consecration. Be faithful in seeking the Lord daily, in obeying Him. The Holy Ghost will not take over lips of clay until they are holy, until nothing is coming forth but holiness and righteousness in the voice of the candidate for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. With the righteousness and holiness of God bubbling forth, the Holy Spirit is welcomed. He is eager to move in.

In the very moment you yield to the Spirit of Truth for all cleansing needed, for every speck of deceit and contamination to be removed from your spirit, then the soul is made holy through the blood of the Lamb; you have received born-again salvation.

Why do some, after they receive salvation, have to tarry so long before they receive the baptism in the Holy Ghost? Because they will not yield to the Spirit of Truth. Don’t think you can wait until the Holy Ghost moves in before you yield to Him; you have to yield to the Spirit of Truth before He moves in. The Holy Ghost gladly moves into a yielded vessel, and with great jubilation He takes over a holy tongue. He takes over purged, cleansed lips; He uses tongues and vocal organs that are sanctified.

Never speak in tongues at will; that would be just you speaking. If you speak in tongues at will within yourself, then the devil will eventually take over. It has happened to a lot of people, saith the Lord. They think they can talk in tongues anytime they are in the mood. That is not how the Holy Ghost operates. He should be able to speak whenever He wants. When I speak, I speak in English. When the Holy Ghost speaks through me, He speaks in any language He chooses.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Ghost was the one doing the speaking. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The devil has used this thing [speaking in tongues at will] in this final hour, saith the Lord, to destroy the plan of God. Unrighteous, unholy preachers who have not obeyed God are teaching people to speak in tongues at will, praying in so-called tongues. It is not the Holy Ghost tongue, saith the Lord. It is not. It is an abomination in the eyes of God, saith the Lord. If you “pray in the Spirit” whenever you want, it is you praying and not the Holy Spirit. This kind of so-called prayer tongue is just a human tongue, and many times it gets mixed in with the devil.

When the Holy Ghost baptized those in the Upper Room, they all spoke in tongues as He gave the utterance. This is when the Church Age really started. The utterance came by the Holy Spirit as He used the tongues, the lips, the vocal organs. The Holy Spirit is a person. He has things to say, and He doesn’t need anyone to talk for Him. Never does He become discouraged; never does He talk discouragement to you. He is your helper, the source of all divine patience. Going with you into every valley, He is your strength for the journey, with you all the time when you are saved and baptized in His Spirit. Never be guilty of speaking for Him; always yield holy lips and holy tongue, holy voice to Him to use; to speak whenever He wants.

The devil is doing everything He can to destroy the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, but he will not be successful. God is going to have a holy people. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (I Peter 1:16). God has nothing but holiness and righteousness to give His people. Without holiness, God’s holiness, you can’t see the face of God. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

Got hates sin—loves the sinner however. Why do you think He drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden? Why didn’t He just forgive them and let them remain in that paradise? No sacrifice had been offered that would erase their sin. God killed an animal and shed that blood to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve with the skins; but they didn’t have holy hearts now; they no longer had the holy personality. Only the blood of Jesus would be able to give people hearts redeemed from all sin. Sin, disobedience ruined the Godlike personalities of Adam and Eve.

God has had trouble with man, with woman. He has worked and worked to bring them back to Him. When God made a Calvary, He gave His whole heart, all of His love, all of His grace, all of His tender care, all of His compassion, all of His mercy. It took everything God had to do it; it took so much that God had to black out the scene on Calvary and turn His back on His beloved Son. He closed His ears to that anguished cry: My God, my God! Why hast thou forsaken me? It was an incredible sacrifice that was given to make man and woman pure and clean. If redemption doesn’t come through Jesus, then it won’t come.

Many have crossed over into the next world horrified to find themselves in a literal, burning hell. The preacher stood over their caskets and preached them into Heaven—but they were not there. The devil has deceived many into believing that no matter how they live, they will still go to Heaven when they die: Oh that was a good person. He is in Heaven. Human goodness won’t take you to Heaven. Without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:22). No remission of what? No remission of sin. Only one way can a person be made new: through the blood of Jesus, through the Word.

The Bride will have the characteristics and traits of the Holy Spirit which are the characteristics and traits of Jesus. That’s the reason she will be so beautiful, so wonderful. Jesus displayed all the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit; the human part blended with the Holy Ghost.

The Bride will be led into the Gethsemane of prayers, into the mount of fastings. She will know how to talk to Heaven because part of Heaven lives on the inside of her; a member of the Godhead lives and dwells there. All the greatness of the Holy Ghost, all the power of Him He seeks to blend in with the human personality. The Holy Ghost is a person. If you don’t have Him, you need Him. If you think you have Him, you better check and make sure.

The Holy Ghost moved upon men of old and they wrote what thus saith the Lord. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:21).

The Holy Ghost rebukes all sin. He will reprove the world of sin…Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged (John 16:8,11). The Holy Ghost reveals the judgments of God. He reveals the perfect will of God. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you (John 16:14). This is what Jesus said about the Holy Ghost to the disciples.

Every person who receives the baptism of the Holy Ghost speaks in a heavenly language that glorifies the Lord. The Holy Ghost shows you all the greatness of Him. You don’t have to wait for God’s blessings; they are on the table for you all the time. The Holy Ghost leads you to the Lord’s table, showing you that it’s always full of His spiritual food. There is no scarcity. Jesus said, All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you (John 16:15). The Holy Ghost will show you all things because you are a joint heir with Jesus, your elder brother, through His blood.

Jesus told the disciples, I shall shew you plainly of the Father (John 16:25). As Jesus showed us the Father, the Holy Ghost has come and plainly is showing us the Son. In each miracle, in each healing, He glorifies Jesus. The Holy Ghost is here to point the way to Calvary, to the strait gate you must enter to reach the narrow road to Heaven.

Walk with Jesus, not with the world; use His opinions rather than the opinions of yourself or of others. Everything He says and every step He takes must be your top priority. Cast aside everything unlike Jesus; live in one accord with Him. Agree with Him on all the scriptures He teaches you, and never try to modify them with your opinions.

The Holy Ghost blended into your personality is a closer relationship than that of husband and wife. He lives and dwells on the inside of you when you are baptized in His Spirit. Yield to Him. Give yourself to Him. Go the paths He wants you to go. He is the source of all wisdom, all knowledge. He sees the future, no guesswork on His part. When you come before your persecutors, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost (Mark 13:11). Never will He give a false prophecy, never speak a wrong word.

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5). The Holy Ghost cannot shed abroad the love of God in your heart if you’re not blended with His Spirit. Many claim to have the Holy Ghost, yet they have malice, grudges, clamor, bitterness, resentment: the Holy Ghost is not in vessels such as those; He does not blend with those works. The Holy Ghost breathes the air of Heaven, not polluted atmosphere. If you yield to Him, He sheds abroad love, not hate; forgiveness, not condemnation.

The human is weak, but if the human leans toward the Spirit so that the Spirit blend is there, the human can forgive easily. When the human backs away, when the human doesn’t feel the need or desire to really blend with the Holy Spirit, then the Holy Spirit leaves that one alone.

The human is critical, open to hurt and to be hurt. When your feelings are hurt, don’t go to people for comfort; yield to the Holy Spirit. Let His personality blend into yours, and that flow will make up the one personality that forgives and rises above hurt. Don’t struggle within self; forgive even before a person asks you to.

Jesus said, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me (Matthew 16:24). Failing to deny yourself is failing to follow Jesus. If you follow people, you act like them; if you follow Jesus, you act like Him. The Holy Spirit never tells you to look at people unless it’s to behold a righteous one, to mark the perfect one. Don’t look at those who are disobedient.

Self has the choice of separating from the Holy Spirit or of blending with Him. Self can separate you from the humility of the Holy Spirit, cause you to grieve the Holy Spirit making it impossible for the Holy Spirit to help you. Only if you yield to Him can the Holy Spirit help you. If you go too long grieving the Holy Spirit, you will grieve Him right out of your life. A grudge can destroy you; lust can destroy you. Your eyes, your ears must be clean before God, holy. You dare not keep your eyes on that which is wrong.

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity (Psalm 37:1). The Lord will take care of the evildoers. Turn people over to the Lord; place them in His hands. Don’t seek vengeance: Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19). Your job is to put the problem under the blood; the Lord’s is to take care of it. The enemies of the children of God are God’s enemies; He will handle them. Don’t carry the odor of the wicked with you. Unload the wicked from your heart; give them over to the Lord to deal with.

Do you always feel the other person is wrong and you are right? You could be the one in the wrong. Take yourself and the person to the Lord; let Him show you who is in the wrong. Seek God; get your answers from Him. Wait on Him for the Truth. If you have treated another with anything less than love and God’s Truth, then you were negligent. Only through God’s Truth and love can you treat people as Jesus would treat them. We are to love everyone, but there are those impossible to like. We love their souls, not their ways. God does not like some people; however, He loves their souls. You won’t even treat your companion right unless you do it through Truth and love.

Couples fuss because of lack of Truth and love. Misunderstandings, hard feelings, resentment, jealousy, anger are due to too little Truth and love. My wife, Angel, and I got along beautifully because our spirits blended together with the Holy Spirit. That’s the way it’s meant to be in marriage, the way happiness flows from Heaven. Daily God smiles on such a marriage. How sad that there have been so few marriages He could really smile on all the time.

The Holy Spirit makes intercession for you in prayer: Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God (Romans 8:26,27).

Make sure every day and night that you are pure and clean, that you do not hinder the Holy Spirit working through you. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh (Matthew 24:44). Jesus is coming after a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing (Ephesians 5:27). The Bride will be holy. One speck of sin wipes out holiness. On your own you would never be holy; it’s the Holy Spirit that cleanses you through the blood of Jesus as you yield to Him. Within yourself, you cannot defeat the devil; you are no match for him. But when in the name of Jesus you use the blood against him, he will be put to flight. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). You submit yourself unto God by being in perfect accord, perfect harmony with the Holy Spirit.

Can two walk together, except they be agreed (Amos 3:3)? You can’t have the Holy Spirit if you don’t agree with Him. He will never agree with you in anything shady, underhanded, unholy or sinful. Study the works of the Holy Spirit; study your spirit and the spirit of the devil so you will know the difference.

In the divine visitation in 1954 when the Lord spent so many days and nights with me that I lost count, He told me to go to Akron, Ohio to establish this work and then He would send me on to the world. He told me I had been taught by man in theological school, that I must be able to meet the very educated as well as the very uneducated, the very rich as well as the very poor. The Lord said, “Now you will be taught by the Holy Ghost.” Thousands and thousands of hours I have sat at His feet, day after day, year after year, ever learning, ever coming into the knowledge of the Truth. He told me I would have to be able to separate the spirits.

Thank God for His wisdom and knowledge that teaches the Bride to separate the spirits! She will not listen to ministers who are false, saith the Lord. She will not listen to false teachers. Many have been brought into bondage by listening to the wrong messengers. People who preach false doctrine can influence you by the spirit of the devil going forth through their voices just like the Holy Spirit goes forth in the voice of a true servant of God. The devil’s seducing spirits take over people to turn them away from the Truth, puff them up to make them think they know more than those who are godly.

I want the Truth. I want to know if what I hear is in accord with the Word of God, uncontaminated by the flesh or the devil. If someone were to give you a pie with just a little poison on one side, would you eat it? Would you eat it, hoping the part you ate was all right? Of course not. It makes just as much sense to listen to preachers who mix a little false doctrine in with the truth as it does to eat a pie with just a little poison in it. Both can be deadly.

We live in the world, but we are not a part of it, not a part of its lust, its sins. We are separated into the holiness of God all the time. Each member of the bridal company has moved into the greatness of God. The Lord is calling for others. Are you going to move?

Do you want to be a part of God’s great plan? Do you want to live in that heavenly Eden where the river of life flows freely, where the tree of life gives forth its fruit all the time? It’s all offered to you, but it is conditioned on your taking Jesus into your heart and being born new. Oh, God, I pray that you can move them. I pray that they will all yield to your Spirit, multitudes of people. Oh, God, help them to yield.

If you don’t know the Lord and you want Him in your heart, pray the sinners’ prayer with me now. Oh, God, save my soul! I’m so sorry that I sinned against you! But I’ve come home. I’m going to serve you, Lord, the rest of my life. I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins, all of my sins. Come into my heart, Jesus! Come on in!

If you meant that prayer, He has come, He is yours. Walk with Him. Walk in the Spirit and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

The gifts of healing, the gift of miracles have all the power of healing you need for all diseases, all afflictions and deformities. Jesus said, All things are possible to him that believeth (Mark 9:23). When Jairus’ daughter had died, Jesus said, Be not afraid, only believe (Mark 5:36). He put out the unbelievers, and took the little girl by the hand and she arose and walked.

If you need healing today, or your little one is ill, in faith believe God for the miracle. I am not a healer, but I believe in the power of prayer. Jesus is the healer. Lord, I bring the sick, the afflicted, the deformed, I bring them all to you. From your wonderful, supernatural gift of miracles and gifts of healing it comes; through the power of the Holy Ghost in the name of your Son Jesus, Heal, heal! in the name of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is flowing the power of the Lord to you; you have only to accept it. Don’t you feel that holy power, that holy presence flowing into your body or into the body of your little one? Don’t doubt it. Believe it and watch it work day after day to get you or yours well. Then write and tell me about it. Let us help you rejoice over what the Lord has done for you this day. The Lord loves you; you are special to Him.

Hear what the Lord is saying, the pure Word of God. Know what the Lord is going to do for His people, how He is pouring out His power in this last hour, and praise Him for the marvelous gifts of His Son and the Holy Ghost. Dear God, we thank you for sending Jesus! We thank you, Jesus, for praying to the Father to send us the good Holy Ghost! We thank you, precious Lord, that we have the baptism of the Holy Spirit living and dwelling on the inside of us!

Thus Saith the Lord

Pride goeth before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Disobedience is never rewarded with my goodness and my greatness. Disobedience, unholy living separate man from his God. I will not walk with disobedience. I will not walk with the unfaithful in this last hour. I will walk with the obedient. I will flow my blessings to the obedient. People will hear my voice, and those that heed will be drawn to me. Those that will not obey me will cease to hear my voice. Those that continue to disobey me even in little things, my voice will become fainter and fainter. I will not deal with them in my gracious love as I have done in the past. They will not have the opportunities they have had in the past.

The hour is a late one, and I am gathering unto myself the ones that will be completely yielded to my Holy Spirit. I hear the cry of the lost, and I am moved on my throne of mercy and greatness. They must hear, and they must hear the pure Truth, and they must be introduced to the Spirit of Truth. They must have my baptism of the Holy Ghost so that they can learn about my greatness and learn about all of my ways of love and help for them. They are without understanding. My Spirit will give them understanding. My Spirit will give them wisdom and knowledge. They will come into my greatness in such a miraculous way that they will learn so much of me in moments of time. I will reveal my glory unto them, and only the obedient will be able to lift me up to them so that they can see my glory. Holy, pure, clean, holy hands will be the hands that will lift up my glory so the people can see. Only the pure, pure and clean with no specks of contamination, not one speck I will beam my light through of greatness; and that’s the reason multitudes will come into my knowledge in moments of time. They will be given so much knowledge with their gift of salvation. I will be generous unto them. The great awakening of the Spirit, waking the people, and they behold, and those that choose the God that made them will be delivered and will come into their right minds with my knowledge and love, and will become soul winners at once, soul winners helping to bring in the harvest, saith the Lord.
