The Bible is the standard, the pattern for mankind to follow, the infallible Word of the living God. People, even Christians, can frighten others away from God’s “old-time” power, the very thing we all need. How can they do that? By talking against the power of God.

Believing for the Holy Ghost baptism with the evidence of speaking in tongues should be no more difficult than believing for salvation, believing that a person can be born again, made new through the blood of Calvary that was spilled almost two thousand years ago. God is not a man; He doesn’t work the way man works. When people decide God can only do what man can do, they limit Him, fail to acknowledge His mighty works, neglect to embrace His wonderful love; they ignore His mighty grace that His Son brought to this old world for each one of us.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). In Christ you are a new creature; there is no other way to be saved than through the blood of Christ. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin (I John 1:7). Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God (Romans 3:24,25). Through faith in the blood of Jesus, salvation comes. Let those words live in your mind and heart. When you are made a new creature through the blood of Jesus, you have the Jesus heart and you take on His Spirit. Salvation is reality to you, and now you are ready to receive the Holy Ghost, for He will teach you the greatness of Jesus.

Jesus let the disciples know they couldn’t be true witnesses for Him without the Holy Ghost. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high (Luke 24:47-49). They received that power from On High in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost when they were baptized in the precious Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost baptism is criticized by some who think it is too emotional, too noisy. They have judged it by man’s opinions, not by God’s Holy Word. On the Day of Pentecost those who were baptized in the Upper Room were heard by many. They were not at all quiet about this wonderful new experience. With the noise of a rushing, mighty wind, the Holy Ghost swept in, shaking the city as well as those in the Upper Room. People ran to see what was taking place. Some did no more than just see; but others went further, and they received the Holy Ghost, too. It’s the same today: some are still doing no more than just seeing, while others are going all the way with the Lord.

The apostles came down from the Upper Room—and what noise they made! They praised God, speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gave utterance. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is a highly emotional experience. When the Holy Ghost descends on people, excitement, rejoicing and joy abound. Signs, wonders, miracles and healings take place.

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this (Acts 2:6-12)? Through those who had been to the Upper Room, the Holy Ghost spoke in about sixteen different languages, and people called it the wonderful works of God.

Today there are doubters who call the language of the Holy Ghost the works of the devil. They claim the Holy Ghost was only for the Early Church, that people needed to speak other languages just to spread the Gospel. If that were so, they would have needed only the three languages used in the inscription over the cross of Jesus because at least one of the three was understood by all.

What meaneth this? The sincere hearts wanted the meaning of the manifestations at Pentecost. The insincere scoffed. Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine (Acts 2:13). They decided the apostles were drunken with some new intoxicant. Never had they seen people so happy. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh (Acts 2:14-17). This is that time; the Lord is pouring out His Spirit again. The Early Church rejoiced in the early rain of the Holy Spirit and praised God for the latter rain. Peter preached a powerful sermon—this same Peter who was filled with fear not too many weeks earlier, who had cursed and denied Christ. Now he was filled with salvation, the Holy Ghost and boldness to declare that Jesus was the Christ.

The Holy Ghost, when you yield to Him, will give you courage to boldly stand for the whole Word of God. I’ve seen people, timid, weak, afraid of crowds, who after they received the Holy Ghost marched right up before people to give thrilling testimonies.

When God begins to manifest Himself, some people are terrified, but those who live holy never need be afraid of God’s manifestations. The Israelites were afraid of the voice of God and asked Moses to not let Him speak to them. And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die (Exodus 20:18,19). Many are afraid of the voice of God that comes through the power of the Holy Ghost, afraid of the way God speaks to His people today.

Peter refuted the doubters, leaving them no room for argument. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36). You crucified Him! Peter accused.

By the time Peter finished, people were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls (Acts 2:37-41). It takes the Holy Ghost to bring that kind of revival. Without the power of the Holy Ghost moving, anointing and baptizing people, souls simply miss out.

We read in the book of Acts that the Holy Spirit shook the place when people prayed for holy boldness. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:29-31). They prayed for boldness and the Lord gave it.

Bound in jail, Paul and Silas conducted an old-time holiness meeting. Although the two prisoners didn’t know whether or not they would be killed the next day, they sang and rejoiced. And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed (Acts 16:25,26). Not only were Paul and Silas miraculously set free, they went on to lead the jailor and his family to the Lord.

Like Paul and Silas, we don’t know what will happen on tomorrow either; but we know the power of the Lord will continue to pour down and people will be saved, healed, delivered and baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Paul and Silas had power to cast out devils. How many devils are being cast out of people by those who don’t believe in the Holy Ghost or want Him in their services? Do you hear them invite the drug addicts, the alcoholics and the devil-possessed to church to be delivered? Do they say that God will set them free? No. They tiptoe around the devil.

Philip traveled to Samaria, and another revival was on. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city (Acts 8:5-8). Screaming loudly, devils came out of the devil-possessed. It takes the power of God to cast out devils, power that comes through the Holy Ghost.

Bible days are here again; today people still are being saved, healed and delivered through the power of the Holy Ghost. In a mighty revival crusade in another country, the demons cried out as people were being delivered. One man said, “Why, the way the devils cried out reminds me of Christ’s day.” The devils didn’t want to leave the people they were possessing, but they couldn’t stay before the power of God; thousands of people were delivered. God shook the place just as He did in Bible times.

Peter and John did not have quiet little healing services. On their way to the temple to pray one day, they met a man begging for alms. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering (Acts 3:6-11). There was nothing subdued in Peter’s command to rise and walk, nothing quiet and reserved about this deliverance. After the lame man received such a fantastic miracle he entered the temple leaping and praising God.

Some people would have been embarrassed by so much emotion and turned away from it; but the man, filled with the wonderful emotion of God’s praises, rejoiced greatly. Five thousand came to the Lord over this amazing deliverance. It was a time filled with emotion and shouts of praise. How can one be full of the Lord and not be emotional over it?

The power of the Holy Ghost was so great in the Early Church that people were healed everywhere. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; …Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them (Acts 5:12,15). These things were not done quietly. I can almost hear a woman saying to her sick child, “Honey, when the man of God walks by, when his shadow touches you, you will be healed. Why, I just saw it happen to a man. He was made whole before my very eyes! Get ready for your miracle; we’re going to believe God for it.” And the miracle happened. Do you think the mother remained quiet about such a miracle? I think not. I think she would have shouted for joy and told everyone she could tell.

Today how many would call it fanaticism to be healed by a shadow? Some would. The shadow was a point of contact that people used to release their faith. The shadow didn’t heal them; it was the power of God. Peter couldn’t heal anyone, but faith in Jesus could. Faith in God heals the sick. Faith in God delivers the people. Again and again I have thought about the sick people who were healed as Peter passed by. We have no other record of people being healed that way. Some people may call God’s miracles fanaticism, but those who are healed rejoice and praise God over them.

How odd that people who think church should be quiet and unemotional will scream and be emotional to the point of silliness at a sporting event! The Bible tells us to make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name (Psalm 100:1,4). Everyone: Make a joyful noise to the Lord! O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph (Psalm 47:1). Some people clap their hands for anything but God.

On that first Palm Sunday, people took off their coats and spread them in the way for a little donkey carrying Jesus to walk over. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out (Luke 19:37-40). People were leaping and jumping with excitement as Christ came into Jerusalem. What a noise they made!

Jesus is in our midst today in every service, and we are not quiet in our praise for Him. We are healthy in the Lord; sick people don’t do much praising. Spiritually sick Christians are found in dead churches, churches that have not learned how to praise the Lord, for they don’t have the reality of Him.

As Paul traveled to Damascus, the Lord took him, slammed him down into the dust. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man (Acts 9:4-7). The experience was dramatic, astonishing, so explosive that it turned Paul’s life around completely.

I’m answering on purpose the people critical of those who praise God with feeling, the people who try to turn others away from the true Gospel because they dislike the emotion that comes with the Holy Ghost’s takeover. Don’t let anyone rob you of the wonderful liberty set forth in the Acts of the Apostles! The pattern of the Early Church in the beginning is our pattern today. Seek to find out what true Bible Pentecost really means. The opinions and notions of those who try to explain why the liberty in the Holy Spirit is not for us today should be ignored. Go on to receive Him in all His fullness. In the Early Church, those who wanted to know “what meaneth this” are the ones who were blessed, saved and baptized in the Holy Ghost. Those who mocked the Holy Ghost were not saved, healed or delivered; they hated the idea of speaking with tongues.

The first record of different tongues was in Old Testament days. And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth (Genesis 11:1,9). Because the people of Babel didn’t believe God, they were going to build a tower to Heaven. They were doubters, a disobedient people, and the Lord wanted them to be separated. He came down to confound their language so they no longer could communicate with each other. In all directions they went from that place.

If the Lord will change the languages of people to separate them when He is angry, what will He do for His children in kindness? On the Day of Pentecost, God in great love proved He could change the language of the people, people who would be totally obedient. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). The power of God that had confounded language because of people’s disobedience, now because of obedience spoke in holy languages using the tongues of sanctified believers. Speaking in tongues signifies a person’s complete surrender to God. When the Lord has your tongue in obedience and love, He has you completely.

In Numbers 22:28-33, we read that God one day spoke through a donkey. Do you think a donkey could control the words that came from her? Of course not. No one had taught the donkey how to talk; it was the Lord speaking through her. Trying to each someone to speak in tongues is just as ridiculous as it would be to try to teach a donkey to talk. Here donkey, talk like this and you’ll be blessed. If the Lord can speak through a donkey, you know He can speak through a human being.

Stephen, the first martyr was full of the Holy Ghost. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people (Acts 6:8). The book of Acts is really the Acts of the Holy Ghost through the lives of yielded vessels, the Apostles and others. Jesus told the disciples that he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12). Before God could do greater works through the disciples, they had to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. Their power for service is our power for service today.

Jesus was baptized in the Holy Ghost when He began His ministry. As the Son of God, He didn’t need to be baptized in water or in the Holy Ghost, but in becoming very man as well as very God, both were necessary. When Jesus took the responsibility of living on the earth in human flesh, He took the same divine help we need to take. Jesus is our example.

Where did the Church really begin? In the Upper Room at Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost. There the world first knew about the Church of Jesus Christ. Through one person, that Church came to life, the person of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost is our teacher, a teacher that dwells within when one is baptized in Him. He is our guide just as Jesus said. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13). People may call it fanaticism to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, but they could not be more wrong. The devil, grooming all he can for his hell, delights when people are driven away from God’s truths. There is no fanaticism in any of the works of God. Recognize the power of God in action in the Early Church.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7). Seek, and ye shall find. Seek the baptism. The baptism requires more than “taking it by faith”; it requires the initial evidence of speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance. Deciding you have been baptized in the Holy Ghost when you have done nothing to receive Him, when you have not experienced the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, you are deceived. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

Some claim that if you seek the Lord for the baptism in the Holy Ghost, you are in danger of getting into the power of the devil. That isn’t what Jesus said. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him (Luke 11:10-13)? Your heavenly Father will give the Holy Ghost to you who are saved or who ask sincerely.

Of course we have our safeguards. When the Lord gave me the gift of discerning of spirits, spent so many days and nights with me that I lost count of them, He took me into the kingdom of Lucifer, showed me the powers of the devil, how he operates. The Lord let me look right into the souls of men, women, boys and girls; and I could see the devils that were in those souls. The Lord taught me how to cast out those devils just like He cast them out when He walked the earth. He told me the Word of God would be my safety. Every manifestation, every spirit that I didn’t understand, I must take to the Word. Any strange manifestations or unusual manifestations in my services, I was to take to the Word. Visions must stand the Word-test.

God will not let the devil duplicate His visions one hundred percent. If you have a vision, you must study every detail; it all is essential. When God gives you a vision, you one day will walk back into it in all living reality with nothing changed—or else God did not give that vision. People have been deceived by the devil, thinking a vision he gave was one from God. They thought they were back to the place of the original vision of God—but not everything was in place. Whatever is in the vision—draperies, lamps, carpet—study it all. Be careful that the vision is exactly the same and not altered in any way before you accept it.

Every revelation, every manifestation, impulse, utterance must be taken to the Word of God. If it doesn’t stand the Word-test, throw it out. The Word is the rule of faith and practice. If you stay in the Word of God, you don’t have to worry about fanaticism or the devil getting in. The devil comes in when people won’t live holy, won’t take everything to the Word of God. Good people have become mixed up, confused by not taking everything to the Word. The devil fooled them and moved in.

Eve listened to the devil rather than to the warning of God, and spiritual death was the result. Had she put her confidence in God’s word instead of the devil’s, she would not have been deceived. Good people can listen to the devil and be led astray, but the devil can’t lead them unless they listen. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:14). You cannot be led by the Spirit of God unless you are led by the Word of God. The Holy Spirit and the Word are inseparable.

When any foreign spirit is around you or any manifestation you do not understand, take it to the Word of God. Find out if the Holy Spirit really is speaking through you. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world (I John 4:1-3). How do you try the spirits? With the Word of God.

I remember in one of my miracle services, a man came into the healing line, totally blind in one eye. There was a hindrance in receiving his sight.

“Are you saved?” I asked.

“Oh, yes, I’m saved,” he replied. Immediately the Lord told me to ask him if he believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. When I asked that, the devil spoke out in an audible voice for everyone to hear: “No!” I tried the spirit with the Word of God, and the false was uncovered. The devil was cast out of the man, and the man gave his heart to God. Immediately the Lord gave him sight in the blind eye. This is the power in the Lord’s deliverance.

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost (I Corinthians 12:1-3). If you are in doubt, if you sense a foreign spirit, ask the person if Jesus is Lord.

I Corinthians 12 tells of the spirit of discerning. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will (I Corinthians 12:7-11). If the Lord didn’t want us to be conscious of the difference in the spirits, why would He give us the gift of discerning as one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit? God has made that gift possible to the body of Christ. The gifts are meant to operate in the Church so that we can go into the deepness of Him.

The Lord discerns through me, separates the spirits. In the divine visitation years ago, the Lord told me that I would have to know the Spirit of God, the spirit of the devil and the spirit of man and be able to separate them. It took fastings, prayers, living in the presence of God to come to that place of separation. Churches that don’t practice prayer, Bible fasting and living in the Word of God don’t have the power of God. Jesus said, Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). If fasting were taken out of the Bible, part of Acts would go with it.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4). The God that you seek is greater and more powerful than the devil. Don’t let anyone frighten you away from seeking the Holy Ghost baptism. Many preachers have misused scriptures to keep their members from going somewhere else to seek the baptism in the Holy Ghost, making those people think they would get a spirit from the devil. It’s dangerous to prevent anyone from seeking the Holy Ghost.

Anyone who has the real Holy Ghost has the real fruits of the Spirit manifested in his life. If the fruits of the Spirit are not there, neither is the baptism. Many, even in Pentecostal ranks, claim to have the baptism when they do not have Him. They don’t live holy; they are unclean, ungodly. They may talk in a tongue, but it’s not the tongue of the Holy Ghost. The devil has gotten in and taken over. Will you throw away all the greatness of God, all the power in the Holy Ghost because some have been deceived and become hypocrites? It would make no sense to do so. Jesus said, Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 7:16-21). You shall know them by their fruits, another Word-test.

If true Pentecostals are not right, why do they live holy, clean and pure? Why do they preach against sin? Some claim that everyone sins, even after they have salvation. What are they saved from? The purpose of salvation is to save people from their sins so they can go on to live a sinless life. We don’t claim that everyone who comes to our services lives holy, but the majority do. Through the majority the Lord moves and blesses.

Because the Bible says that Satan can appear as an angel of light, some people denounce God’s supernatural manifestations. Of course the devil can appear as an angel of light, but the Lord strips off that light for the children of God. The Lord will let you know that it is the devil.

The miracle-working power of God is a wonder to behold. Make sure you know the Spirit of God in your service. Even good people can be deceived. The disciples at one time thought Jesus was a spirit: But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear (Matthew 14:24-26).

After the Crucifixion, Jesus appeared to them, and again they thought He was a spirit. And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have (Luke 24:36-39). Fear not, it is I! His Spirit bears witness that He is in control—if you have the right spirit.

When Jesus was here, He gave the most fearful warning to anyone with a soul: Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come (Matthew 12:31,32). People who speak against the Holy Ghost are in trouble. In this hour of the Holy Ghost’s outpouring, it does not take long for people to blaspheme. Jesus gave us a death warning of the unforgivable sin: Blaspheming the Holy Spirit. People have destroyed much in their lives, preachers have lost much by criticizing the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Don’t let anyone make you doubt the importance of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. If you don’t have this wonderful, glorious experience, seek it. It is as real as your very breath. This baptism is not a baptism by man but by the third person in the Trinity of the Godhead, and it is the will of God. We all need this wonderful, glorious baptism in the Holy Ghost.

Without the Holy Ghost, there would be no Rapture for the Bride of Christ. The Holy Ghost is here to get the Bride ready when Jesus comes the second time to take His Children home. Only the Holy Ghost will change the Bride in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. Only the Holy Ghost can get all the spots and wrinkles out of people. Jesus is coming after a church that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).

In the Song of Solomon, the Groom is saying, Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee (Song of Solomon 4:7). The Old Testament is filled with types and shadows of the living reality of the New. The Groom is a type of Jesus speaking to the Bride of Christ, the Church without spot, wrinkle, blemish or any such thing.

Deny the Holy Ghost and you are in trouble. Deny the true Holy Ghost baptism that those in the Upper Room received on the Day of Pentecost, and you have denied your way out of here when the Rapture takes place. It makes no difference what people may say. If you don’t believe in the Rapture before it takes place, you certainly will believe afterward.

It will take more of God’s power to go to Heaven in the Rapture that to go by the way of the grave. If you die saved, you will go to Heaven, but to be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, caught away to be with the Lord, will be according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20). That power working within is the Holy Ghost when you are baptized in Him; He works within, not outside. We will be changed from inside out.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (I Corinthians 15:51,52). For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16-17). Christ was full of the Holy Ghost when He was transfigured on the Mount of Transfiguration, and you will need to be full of that same Holy Ghost to meet Christ in the air when the Rapture takes place.

The Holy Ghost will teach you how to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your strength. He will teach you how to give your life completely over to the Lord, how to talk to God and believe Him for all things. He will teach you the Holy Scriptures.

You can’t have the Holy Ghost and still commit sin. He will not baptize you unless you are a holy vessel, saved. Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are (I Corinthians 3:16,17). Many have lived unholy and claimed to have the Holy Ghost. They smoked, drank, sinned. To have the Holy Ghost, you must live holy, pure and clean. He will not use a tongue that is impure in any way.

If you are unsaved, pray the sinners’ prayer with me: Oh, God! Save my soul! Forgive me for all of my sins. I will serve you Lord. I believe in the blood of Jesus, and I believe the blood of Jesus washes away all of my sins right now. Come into my heart Jesus! If you mean that prayer, He has come; He is yours. Walk with Him, and remember: Always try the spirits with the Word of God.

You who are sick and afflicted or who a child who is ill, believe this prayer of healing and deliverance, and God will heal. Lord, here they are. You have delivered many multitudes this way as your servant prayed for them. I am your believer, and in the name of Jesus, I curse the diseases and afflictions as you cursed the fig tree and it died. The same power you used is being used now to heal the people. Heal! Heal! in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. Heal in the all-powerful, holy name of Jesus! The healing power is flowing, going into sick bodies to make them healthy and strong. Jesus loves you as He loved those He healed when He walked the earth. Watch for every sign of improvement. The Lord is the healer. I am not the healer; I am a believer in the power of prayer. I believe in all the Bible teaches, in the whole Jesus, healing for soul, mind and body. Thank God, the Jesus-power works today!

Without the baptism of the Holy Ghost, the Church of Jesus Christ would be without God’s mighty miracle power today. If you do not have Him, wait no longer to receive ye the Holy Ghost with power from On High; let Him make you ready for that great and glorious day when Jesus comes again to take His children home.
